As long as it doesn't become another Balfour situation the US idea would be better as then the Kurds would be independent of foreign rule. Their own homeland and self determination is what they are fighting for.

Oh so now the Greeks are Turks? Interesting! You are getting more and more ridiculous. Hmmm! Maybe you better tell Erdogan that he's wrong about the Greeks, and that they never supported the Kurds, because he thinks they did.

"Erdogan that he's wrong about the Greeks, and that they never supported the Kurds, because he thinks they did." its just populism. he know that geeks can make only Greek love, not war . war its what we do best, Ukraine was attacked by ulus , and it had only 5 000 combat ready solders, and entire Muscovite horde (do they still have on paper 1 million solders?) could occupy only 6 % of Ukrainian territory LOLO)

How is that logical though? Turkey is well quite strong and will kill Kurds at every opportunity yes?

What IS logical is carving a nation state out for Kurds in an area we have ( the US) alot of economic or martial pressure

Turkey has a lot of problems, and they did make peace with the Kurds for a while, but Erdogans ambition got the best of him. He realized that with the Kurd areas he would never get the votes he needed to give himself the powers of a sultan, so he arranged for a few ISIS attacks on the Kurds, and I forgot what else so he could restart the war and knock them out of the voting process.

This time the PKK was well prepared and Turkish soldiers were being killed each day. What's going on now I don't know to be honest. The Kurd population from what I gathered is about 20 million, the Alevis which are closely related to the Alawites in Syria are also about 20 million. If I'm correct, the population of Sunni Turks would be 40 million at the most.

Turkey does not want a Kurd nation bordering it since the neighboring towns are Kurdish so it would be considered a threat. Of course Iran doesn't want to give up any land either to the Kurds... so we will have to wait and see what happens. Right now Turkey is bowing to all of Russias wishes ...it's all they have except for KSA.

You're so funny! The head of the military in Ukraine was so embarrassed at their second defeat by the rag tag militia, that he not only said the Russians invaded, but that they used nuclear weapons ...something that he had to retract when he realized how ridiculous he sounded.

As for the Greeks, they defeated Mussolini's army and forced Germany to delay its plans for the invasion of Russia to help him save face. The Germans ended up facing the Russian winter and losing the war. The lesson is that you can't defeat people who are fighting for their land and homes that easily... something the Gallician Nazis in Ukraine haven't realized yet. But then again they are dumb.

Well, they said exactly the same words about Nothern Kurdistan 14 years ago , and today turkey is N1 business partner for Nothern Kurdistan. The same is gonna happened here. The Western Kurdistan is a fact , with economy, army, friends, schools, USA army bases , etc. meanwhile French project 'syria' is dead many years ago , so we are gonna 3 states today or in 3 years

    Yup.
AIR SUPERIORITY: Trump Tells Russia/Iran/Syria/Turkey to stuff it. US dismisses Russia’s ban on military aircraft over Syria safe zones.

A State Department official on Friday said that the Russian proposal calling to bar U.S. military aircrafts from flying over designated safe zones cannot “limit” the U.S.’s mission against ISIS in the country in any way.

“The coalition will continue to strike ISIS targets in Syria,” the official told The Wall Street Journal. “The campaign to defeat ISIS will continue at the same relentless pace as it is proceeding now.”

A deal hammered out by Russia, Turkey and Iran to set up “de-escalation zones” in mostly opposition-held parts of Syria went into effect Saturday.

What it comes down to is, the U.S. has the ability to enforce its will over Syrian airspace, and Russia, Iran, and Turkey don’t.

SIGNS POINT TO YES: Is Turkey Supporting ISIS?

Turkey backs the Islamic State. Turkey’s recent ban on Wikipedia has been because entries informed by Wikileaks explore financial links between Turkey’s leadership and the Islamic State.

Turkey’s support for Islamic State fighters from Libya. The Guardian reported:

The Italian intelligence document states: “Since 15 December 2015, an unknown number of wounded fighters of the Islamic State in Libya have been transported out of the country to an Istanbul hospital to undergo medical treatment.” The bulk of the “false wounded’’ come from the Libyan area of Fataeh, where “elements of the Islamic State would be holed up”, the document states. From there, the fighters are most commonly sent to Turkish hospitals. It claims in one case the fighters showed fake passports to doctors in Misrata and told them they were wounded in Sirte and Benghazi.

It is one thing to provide triage and medical services for enemy wounded who are captured in combat. If Islamic State or al-Qaeda fighters from Syria show up in Turkish border hospitals, it also makes sense to treat them. Under no circumstances does that mean that those receiving medical care should be free to go after their treatment. There is a greater problem, however, when Islamic State fighters from an area of operation more than 1,000 miles and a sea away start showing up in Turkey to receive services. That’s an indication not of passive assistance but rather of active support on the part of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan’s government.

Turkey is an enabler of the Islamic State’s global campaign and, as such, has become a state sponsor of terror.
