Trump tweet absurdity to change the media focus that he does not like, he understand the 24 news cycle and reality drama. The reason he can do this is that he knows he has his cult base in lock step.

Trump should probably take the high road, sure, but the left has gone so low for so long now, not to mention the haters here don't have much of a leg to stand on when it comes to criticizing him, seeing as how you guys don't hesitate to call him "crazy", "unfit to be president", and talk about his "small hands" and call him every childish "orange" nickname you can think of.

The difference now is twofold -- we have hysterical haters behaving worse than anything anyone's ever seen before, and we have a president who will fight back. Is it "presidential"? Probably not, but then part of Trump's appeal was that he was outside the box. He knows how to wind the haters into hysteria, that's for sure.

 

No, but the President of the United States isn't supposed to respond like a little kid when a little kid is bullied. He's supposed to act Presidential. He's already proven he can't handle negativity and criticism from actors, comics and third rate morning show hosts. How would anyone believe he can handle the pressure of being bullied by world leaders? Maybe your fantasy is him Tweeting out ignorant, petty, and off topic comments about them. Remember, this is the same rude man who, during a Republican primary debate, actually accused President Bush of lying his way into Iraq - and he did that to jab at Bush's brother. When Obama accused Bush of lying his way into Iraq, he was a monster. When Pelosi did it, she was scum. When Gore did it and Clinton did it and Kerry did it, they were stupid rotten liars. But when the great Donald Trump did it....he's awesome!

I remember being livid at Obama (who I also didn't vote for - twice) when he personally attacked the Cambridge Police Department. Remember - they acted stupidly? I was outraged by that. So, I suspect, were most of the people on here dismissing Trump's ridiculous behavior like it's not only normal, but somehow cute, endearing and acceptable. The President needs to be above inflicting his obnoxious personal opinions on the world, and just act Presidential. He isn't getting paid to spar with actresses and third rate morning show hosts. Yes, there have been many similar cases of presidents dressing down reporters and critics and acting petty on government time.

Look Below:

1. President Roosevelt went on the air to criticize jokes about his dog Falla.
2. President Truman wrote a famous nasty letter to a music critic calling him an imbecile for writing a bad review about his daughter's broadcast recital.
3. President Kennedy downgraded a female reporter's question about the future of women's rights by saying that whatever he said he was sure it would not be enough for her. This was in a live press conference.
5. President Lyndon Johnson like to record calls in the oval office. He spent 30 minutes on a call to Lady Bird's hairdresser trying to get him to do the first lady's hair for free.
4. President Clinton lying to the American people saying he "never had sexual relations with that woman"
5. President Clinton shut down an entire news conference because he did not like one reporter's question

I happened to have watched the Morning Joe that triggered the reaction.
They were commenting on how stupid it was that Tillerson is supposed to be Sec of state, but Kushner is supposed to work on a Palestinian peace plan - which undermines Tillerson - plus Tillerson keeps getting his staff picks rejected. These are valid points, but the reality show host in the White House cannot take any criticism.
As always, the so-called president does not respond to the criticism, but unleashes a childish personal attack on the people who brought up the criticism.

This is not normal behavior we are witnessing, at least not for an adult.
