The first gun control law was passed in 1619 = "The first formal legislative body created by European settlers in North America was convened in the Virginia colony on July 30, 1619, twelve years after the colony’s establishment.10 The first General Assembly of Virginia met in Jamestown where it deliberated for five days and enacted a series of measures to govern the fledgling colony.11 Among its more than thirty enactments in those few days was a gun control law, which said “[t]hat no man do sell or give any Indians any piece, shot, or powder, or any other arms offensive or defensive, upon pain of being held a traitor to the colony and of being hanged as soon as the fact is proved, without all redemption.”12" https://scholarship.law.duke.edu/cgi/viewcontent.cgi?article=4825&context=lcp
I'll answer the troll for you, multiple private contractors were consulted for the estimated cost of the wall on John Oliver's show, the cost was around 20 billion with the cost to maintain surpassing the initial build cost in only 10 years.
We have the modern equivalent for the protection of the good people: Anybody that sells firearms to gangs or felons, hang them as soon as (ASAP, without time delay for appeals) the fact is proved, without all redemption.
Good point. The Indians were the first targets of gun control. There is probably a lesson there for the rest of us.
Proving once again that when a political establishment tries to disarm people they want to be able to shoot them without getting shot.
You know, for someone who is always criticizing republicans for being stupid, you sure don't display terribly high levels of intelligence yourself. I mean, I can overlook typos and spelling/grammar errors (Lord knows I make plenty of my own), but your posts are just nonsensical gibberish.
Admittedly it was a rhetorical question. Not only that, but most of the Trumpsters won't even care if he doesn't follow through (which he often does not do).
Democrats are against Voter ID because it's 'Racist'. They figure Blacks and Hispanics are too stupid to know how to apply for one.
What events are occurring in Central America that would constitute refugee status? Just wanting to ruin America like its resident liberals doesn't actually qualify...
They would, the left doesn't care how much the blue collar guys pay in taxes, they don't pay 'em anyway. Our southern border roughly resembles the middle east, what a perfect training ground. Pull most of our troops out of Europe and bring 'em home and station them and their equipment along the border.
That solution I agree with in part. We are paying a lot of tax dollars to have them here working and sending money home. That's money drained from our society while being spent elsewhere benefiting the taxpayers in no way. Yet, we pay to educate their children, give them medical care and support at the expense of the taxpayer while they ship billions of dollars home. Myself I am very comfortable with the US Military securing our border.
Crime is not a legitimate excuse to claim refugee status. These people are nothing but invaders and should be treated as such...
You will never see a Republican (except maybe Ron Paul) advocate for a standardized national voter ID. That would put an end to the voters suppression antics that ALEC has kept trying to push for nearly two decades. For the record, I support a standardized voter ID. But I also support ending the farce of voter registration, and think the everyone meeting the citizenship and age reqirements should automatically be eligible to vote. Voter registration is a Victorian hangover from the days when there were no national population records.
People in Tegucigalpa are more likely to be murdered than a Yazidi when their territory was still controlled by ISIS. That's a little worse than "crime".
The left is for a fifteen dollar an hour minimum wage; and, some on the left are insisting that all foreign nationals in the US, should have a federal id. A simple fee or fine, can make that happen via applied capitalism that can cover costs.
Good point. The War On Drugs was lost decades ago. Now it is just a corrupt industry for both sides. It is a phony war.
We were talking of troops cost. I stipulate they are always paid no matter if at the border or on a base. I asked about the difference in cost at the border vs the base. I believe in government speak, the difference is extremely slight.
