Conversely if Trump lets us slide into a great depression it will not be good for America or his election prospects. Whats needed is a balanced approach of measures meant to slow the spread of Corona but keep the economy up and running. When mask are widely available they should be mandatory to wear in public places and in business environments. Those that can work at home should do so. Frequently touched surfaces should get cleaned hourly. Restaurants should be open with more spaced seating. Measures such as these could open businesses and flatten the curve.

That said, we get better information from Andrew Cuomo than we do from Trump. Cuomo gets his onformation from the experts, he listens to the science. Trump pulls numbers out of his butt and when his own experts dare to correct him, they get fired and replaced with incompetent people. That's been Trump's pattern since he took office.

Exactly. Different areas of the country can assess where they are at in this outbreak and respond accordingly. Bum **** Idaho will be able to open up faster than NYC. This is why one size fits all federal policy that democrats demand is a bad idea.

Italy ?? Their mortality rate is 9%. China quarantined 10% or its population. South Korea is down to a 0.6% mortality rate and that is due to more testing.

In France, I think, and it may have been the other experimental drug, remdesivir. I was listening to a report late last night, but now I can't find it.

They tried it with a very small group, only 26 people. Six of those got so sick they needed hospitalization, whether because of the drug or because of the drug combined with the already active virus.

If people in some industries and trades do not go back to worth in the next month or so, there will be no work to go back to.

The democrats should consider that dead industry means no tax collection which means no vote buying and eventual political unemployment.

 

Of course there will. Unless you are arguing that the virus will permanently eliminate some industries.

 

Not 'some' industries but 'most' industries...remember, all an industry is is simply a collection of businesses filling a need as defined by the public. If that public can no longer buy the products of the industry, for whatever the reason (in this case prolonged unemployment) then the business is faced with the chicken/egg paradox. Do they reopen and provide their service or good to a population that cannot or will not buy it or will they wait for that populace itself to become employed so as to make it possible to produce something the public ....etc

 

So you are claiming that a very effective malaria drug developed in 1955 is now killing people when taken responsibly ??

It saved the life of Reo Giardinieri who was his own advocate and demanded the drug and received it after calling all his relatives for what he thought was the last time. And it is being used by LSU doctors in New Orleans to treat corona virus infections. And the head of the FDA has no issue with doctors prescribing it for corona.

The controls ended up in the hospital ??

 

Why do you say that? Even the hospitality industry will fully recover once the virus threat is over.
