I am for anything that works. Not ideologically driven on this issue. If it works, it has proven itself. And should be noted down for future reference. If it does not work, that is help the average american, then that too should be noted down for future reference. So we don't repeat mistakes. But we never seem to do this. What didn't work last time, or what has never worked is revived, driven by ideology, and so it is brought back. And what has worked in the past is ignored. We don't seem to learn from our mistakes. Because of politics.

Supply side economics works. The historical proof is there. We need entitlement reform. That’s obvious but nothing is done.

That is not what created history's largest middle class. What we were doing them obviously worked. Wasn't it supply side which preceded the crash of 29?

But IMO an economy is a very complex thing, due to the human element involved, and there may be times when supply side works, due to where the economy is in its complexity. And there may be times when demand side economics works, due to the same complexity and where it is at a given time.

The only way we are going to get the others back into the workforce is through welfare reform and increase the LFPR. Tell that to the left. We are getting to the point that we can only fill new jobs based on population growth and that is SLOWING

Supply side economics had nothing to do with the crash of 1929.

Well why not use the more recent implementation of supply-side policies, wouldn't that have more bearing on the topic? In fact compare their results to the recent demand-side economics and see which produced the better results.

They should be based on past performance which is clearly in supply-side's favor.

I prefer to be a bit more historical. We saw demand side create history's largest middle class. It seems the middle class has suffered and shrunk under supply side. Of course slave labor globalism is a major fact too. There is more to it than demand side or supply side if we are talking about a middle class and working class. If your supply side creates more part time non living wage jobs than demand side, you have not provided living wage jobs. Not expanded the middle. Just more working poor jobs.

Don't forget Clinton had a Republican Congress. The first one in about 40 years.

Exactly - why reject proven performance based on a computer model ??

Right. Math and statistics don't exist, and besides that, we can just wait until it's over to find out what the GDP was. It's incredibly helpful for planning, that way. </sarcasm>

Now we're stuck with a permanent tax cut on lots of corporations and business, and we don't have the GDP to cover it. The tax cut was stupid at a time of near full employment, and an improving economy… but they had the votes. How long are you willing to wait, until the tax cuts are proven not to be paying for themselves, and we are borrowing and borrowing more money? If only any of them had looked at the statistics and projections, instead of "believing" they would get us to yearly 4% growth.

Political pedophilia porn is exploiting the gullibility of those born yesterday, like Deplorables. The Trump Ministry of Propaganda and Disinformation is loaded with political porn. A one-stop shop.

Right. The economy was already running hot. Waste of a good tax cut.

How does the model do when using the stats from 1983 ?? Trump’s supply side economic policies are actually more supply side than Reagan.

How did the Obama stimulus model do on unemployment ??
