    He did not. The program for phones for the poor started in the 30's. In the 80's Reagan started a program called "Universal Access" or something like that thru the FCC. The Obama administration just added cell coverage to it as rural phone carriers were dying out, and metropolitan areas were relying on cell coverage to even carry "landline" traffic. All Obama did was transfer them from the old antiquated systems to the new systems (cellular) that the federal government was already paying for and were being used to route the data anyway. It was either that or spend a metric crapton of federal money to revamp the traditional switched networks, or use what was already paid for.

    What got lost in all of this was that the overall process actually save the government money

    Obamacare was actually working, and was a success until Mitch McConnell and Marco Rubio stripped out the risk corridors in the program. If you want to talk facts...lets talk facts. Whats utterly ridiculous is to deny thr FACT that republicans destroyed it by defunding it. Why defund something if its killing itself ?

    Obamacare was actually coined in the 2008 campaign by Conservative journalists for both "hillary-care" and "Obama-care"...they used it to push GW Bush's drive to privatize healthcare completely. Lexus Nexus proves this out.

    it's just petty of Trump to do, this stimulus was a bipartisan bill, to hold up the check so his signature could be on them is just like Trump though... sad!

    That was half my point. But they'll be just as hypocritical as the socialists complaining about his name on their socialism checks are petty and hypersensitive.

    Lets see which side tears more of their checks up in protest ;)...

    No biggie... I hope the dinosaurs that still get physical checks look at that name and realize who put them in the position to NEED those checks...

    This won't change a single mind on Trump...

    I got mine today via auto bank deposit.... Not remotely sure what I am going to do with it...

    As expected, the government is very confused... I got $2400 for my wife and I, plus $500 for my 17 year old (18 on Friday). He's not technically eligible for it, but he was 16 on my 2019 return, so that's what they know...

    The right in this country claims this on a daily basis as to why people vote "democrat". "They vote democrat for the free money". Isn't that EXACTLY what this is ?

    Why? He holds the highest federal office which signed the bill that allocated the funds for the checks. So its not like he didn't have anything to do with them.

    Are you suggesting that his name on the checks is going to influence voters?

    Kinda throws a monkey wrench in leftists desires to take credit for the Trump admins idea. Or is it as you say, "narcissistic", or simply another Trump tweak to further confuse and destabilize the left while he is off on another mission. Trump is a master at this kind of stuff.     No, but we are concerned about the fact that Trump seems to think it will.

    This is not normal, you know that right? This particular thing might be harmless, but the mindset that leads to these types of decisions may not be.

    This type of behavior is a bit unhinged. It's concerning, especially for those of us who don't base our like or dislike of Trump on how much he annoys those we disagree with politically.
