Ok. I don’t disagree but... Relevancy?

    1. Interesting post. We both watch Morning Joe. :) I'm far to the left of Joe politically, but I respect the man as a human being and as a thoughtful moderate. I feel much the same for Ohio Governor John Kasich. I wouldn't vote for either of them, but I would feel comfortable working with either on political issues. My wife & I have had several discussions regarding the growing black hole Trump has created in the news media. He's such a prima-donna; he can't abide anyone or any other thing taking attention away from him. So, important events in the world around us go by unnoticed. That's a notable failure on the part of the media.
    2. I think the vote tally you cite reflects what I posted earlier, that regardless of the party in control, the opposition would automatically oppose the BBA designed by the ruling party because it would approve spending in areas they didn't agree with.

    Yes it does.
The US economy is us engaging in labor and trade, we are animate objects.
Don't be so hard on yourself, you are in there trying and that puts you well ahead of the folks that never take the time to wrestle with these things.

    Chin up!

I dread the day when someone takes out a US Aircraft Carrier with a Chinese Silkworm.

That Republicans don't have a lock on low educated voters and welfare voters and if fact the lowest group votes for Democrats.

    What was your point?

Here is another chart that makes the point.

From 1998 - 2001 there were surpluses totaling ~ $500B. Small as a % and you probably can’t see it on the graph.

The economy is not a human ... It does not wake up in the morning and say "my purpose is X".

Your claim that Trump doubled GDP growth is nonsense. The reason you have given no proof of this claim is because you know this silliness will be refuted.

That’s absurd as anyone with a working knowledge of the economic growth under Obamanomics and Trump knows. No one can refute the truth of that comparison.

That has zero relevancy on anything I have posted.
It also doesn’t discredit a single thing I have posted.
It was a really poor attempt to deflect a fact.

The vast majority of uneducated voters vote republican, they absolutely have a lock on it. That an entire ethnic group, that is lowest in educational attainment, votes almost completely democrat shows just how large a hold republicans have on the uneducated voter.

Whats absurd ? It is one thing to claim that the economy is doing better. Quite another to claim that GDP growth has doubled. Quite another to attribute all that Growth to Trump ... and a further thing yet to think that Trump came by this growth legitimately.

So .. quit making naked claims and start climbing the hill.

While you are climbing - remember you are talking to someone who dislikes Obama and slams him on a regular basis on this forum and someone who - while not caring much for Trump - has given him credit where credit is due.

Don't blame Trump for what the news media is willfully doing. They've chosen to stop covering the news in favor of outrage journalism.

Start doing your homework. All I’ve stated is absolutely true. The economy IS doing better. Gdp after the tax reforms and regulation reform HAS doubled and productivity growth the most important component of gdp growth has tripled. All this is due to the supply side economic policies implemented by Trump and the R party. To actually argue that the preceding is untrue is bizarre.

Exit polls ?? What could go wrong ??

What is your point ?? That R voters are less intelligent than D voters based on educational attainment ?? From what I’ve seen recent graduates of the public school system have no idea of how our government or economics works.

Without Americans there is no US economy.
Trump's first 6 full quarters averaged 3.0% GDP growth.
Obama's last 6 full quarters averaged 1.48% GDP growth.

Yes, gdp is the total production by humans who covert their human capital into goods which improve everyone's standard of living.

    1997 - $5,379.2B
    1998 - $5,478.2B
    1999 - $5,605.5B
    2000 - $5,628.7B
    2001 - $5,769.9B

The Federal debt never went down during this period and this illustrates why you look at the Federal Debt numbers not the deficit.

Why is the Gross Federal Debt on the chart above in the $5T range? The Gross Federal Debt for 2017 was ~ $20T. Debt held by the public was ~ $15T.
