Through Roger Stone who admits to trading messages with Guccifer (for the 3rd time). Guccifer is the hacker that American Intelligence agencies determined hacked the DNC and Mr. Podesta. So much so, he posted a tweet thanking Wikileaks for posting his hacked material.

Roger Stone, senior advisor to Trump, pre-dated the release of Podesta hacking by 6 weeks.

    And the indictments are where?
Before the pervert Trump arrived on the scene, there was a certain decorum to the politics. Hacking e-mails was not part of the normal and customary give and take.

Blaming Mr. Obama for hacks occurring is, I apologize, retarded.

In this case, it is clear that the Trump campaign went beyond the pale of hardball politics both in terms of hacking opponent's e-mails and promising stuff that cannot be delivered (see Health care).

What did Stone do or fail to do which enabled the hacking? Merely giving thanks? I don't think that rises to the level of "collusion" which implies illegality. What laws did Mr. Stone break?

IMO his behavior is appropriate considering that of the opposition.

Well, it should be a given that people on both sides are committed to free and fair elections. He obviously knew that Podesta was going to be hacked and who was going to do it. Did he go to the NSA, FBI, or whomever; encourage them not to do it....No.
Seriously....do you want the guy who has the President's ear to be conversing with criminals? Do you want the guy who has the President's ear to be anywhere near holding conference with those who stand at the opposite end of the spectrum of the American tradition of free and fair elections?

We may find out. The investigation is underway.

    That is hardly collusion.

Of course. Politicians have to meet with all sorts.

So all this talk of collusion is little more than hot air.

Is trading messages with a hacker illegal?

I think you've got a problem with finding a law against the charge of collusion with a foreign government to influence an election.

There isn't any law against that, which I am aware of.

I don't know about Obama. I was never aware of impeachment talk. You might want to link that for us. If so, then this is just more of the same, isn't it?

No. It's just strange how the one hacker who Roger Stone has endorsed, cheered for, and interacted with is the one hacker who the US Intelligence services say hacked the DNC and Mr. Podesta's e-mails.

Again, not illegal. Just strengthens the ties between Trump and Russia.

    • So the campaign manager had to resign because he had dealings with Russia.
    • So the Intel advisor (Flynn) had to resign because of his dealings with Russia.
    • So the AG had to correct his fraudulent testimony stating he had no contact with Russian officials during the campaign
    • And now one of his senior advisors admits to dealing with a hacker.

Do you honestly believe that Mr. Trump had no knowledge of any of this????

    The investigation continues...

Flynn's now asking for immunity. Interesting. Wasn't John Dean offered a similar deal for dumping the goods on Nixon?

Really though, why else would a 60+ y/o friend of Trump even remotely have anything to do with a hacker if it wasn't for nefarious purposes?

Politicians (of whom Stone is not one)...have to meet with Russian hackers? And trade messages with them?

Hot air...so was Watergate until someone was offered immunity and beans began to spill.

    The investigation continues.

No beans yet, though. It is easy to fall prey to wishful thinking.

(I don't remember anyone being granted immunity in Watergate. John Dean got a plea deal. But that is beside the point.)

The United Arab Emirates arranged a secret meeting in January between Blackwater founder Erik Prince and a Russian close to President Vladimir Putin as part of an apparent effort to establish a back-channel line of communication between Moscow and President-elect Donald Trump, according to U.S., European and Arab officials.

The meeting took place around Jan. 11 — nine days before Trump’s inauguration — in the Seychelles islands in the Indian Ocean, officials said.

A little late to be considered as evidence that Trump and the Russians coordinated the hacking.

Looks like garden variety diplomacy to me.

Actually, I was referring more to many of the radical right members of this forum who were clamoring for Obama's impeachment, yet resent any investigation of Trump.

If he is not found guilty of wrongdoing, he will be vindicated.

And your party will be in shambles. But that's not all, you would have also accomplished the political destruction of the White House, for what reasons exactly? That's right: None or petty reasons. Maybe his vindication will be the healing of US Politics.

    Not good enough.

If this is all you've got, you're going to lose even more congressional seats and more states. You have to do better or lose. Those are your only two options.

Must investigations of probable cause be validated by YOUR partisan approval??? YOUR persecution of Obama was not petty???

    Probable cause of what?

You really don't get it, I guess. There is no law on the books regarding foreign countries influencing elections. No rules saying Americans can't help them do this.

    None.

Well, the Democrats actually picked up seats in both houses in 2016.

    What laws exactly?

This is what I just can't get out of anybody. I've asked and asked, but it always just ends up going nowhere when it comes to explaining this out.

Did you just read this in the NYT and assume there are laws that are being broken?

You know, you're right! I had completely forgotten that. The damn republicans were given both the senate and the house, but they failed to do anything with it.
