Thing is that science is not truth , science tries to discover the truth like an inspector investigating a crime . What we see is not always true and you may wanna consider what Plato described as "the cave" (we only see shadows and not even those who cast them). I agree with the spirit of your post tho.
The "goddites" (typically random visiting evangelists) "bought into" the propaganda and feel compelled to "sell" it. They're usually not prepared for an encounter with someone who meets them head on with contrary interpretations of scripture.
