Yeah, you are right. The last Nation Guard president we had was Bush. He did a great job, eh.

The idea that someone can tell what kind of President a person will be on the basis that this person was in the National Guard - is fallacious nonsense on steroids :)

Repeat after me ---- "Tulsi, Tulsi, Tulsi"

Then why are you bragging up her NG duty?

Little cheers are nice for little girls, but if you like her bet on her. The Vegas odds on her are about 25 to 1.

You realize that National Guard, Reserves, and Active Duty all have the same training and same deployments, right? The only difference is who funds each, and if you're active vs. Guard/Reserves...you're just getting paid to wash trucks and clean barracks while in Garrison.

No need to get riled because I pointed out your logical fallacy. The only reason I was discussing military service was because another Poster brought it up claiming Trump's military service was better.

One oddsmakers has Tulsi at 10 - but I will take the 25 :) I may throw down few dollars.

I don't give her much of a chance - Red and Blue Establishment hates her. She would have a chance if Bernie was to endorse and campaign for her.

I was just curious. You expounded her military service. I don't see hanging around some rear area servicing officers as much of an accomplishment. If you do, that is OK too.
You are right about one thing, she don't have much of a chance.

She's getting zero press and zero support.

I suspect that means that she's the best choice.

Everything is relative. Tulsi was no "Commando" ;) but, she did more than Trump. I am not bashing Trump on this basis - I was only stating this as another poster was claiming otherwise.

If Bernie endorses Tulsi and campaigns for her - she has a chance.

Are you not rooting for Tulsi ? I mean excluding the GOP. Tulsi is very conservative for a Liberal.

I don't know about Bernie. I don't see him supporting anyone not named Bernie. Tulsi has no accomplishments, no platform and is tripping all over herself apologizing for her past. It is strange that you would compare her to a highly accomplished man like Trump.

Funny stuff ! .. but, he is getting older than old. He needs his legacy to live on and I don't think running again is going to do that for him. Better to be in the background campaigning .. perhaps a VP spot. When you think about it .. who else is he going to support .. O'rourke ?
Kamala ? What kind of a name is that btw cum all ya ? :)

Lizzy - el crackpot who likes a beer ?

I did not compare Tulsi to Trump (sans responding to a comment in relation to military service). Sure Trump is accomplished - but, accomplished at what. An accomplished reality TV star - I will give him that. He has a gift for understanding people - in some ways.

He also has a gift for telling tall tales, embellishment, arrogance, boasting and a host of other negative characteristics.

At the end of the day he is an Establishment wonk - albeit an unloved one due to his bull in a china shop approach.

On the plus side - I like his pulling out of Syria - never did like the idea of arming and supporting Al Qaeda. He hit the nail on the head (almost) when he said that Obama created ISIS - what he meant was "the modern incarnation of ISIS" which is 100% true.

No difference between him and Tulsi on that front. Kissing Saudi butt ? not so much but hey ... if you are an Establishment wonk .. some things are required.

I liked that he met with Kim .. something Tulsi supported. Trump did not go as far as meeting with Assad though - Das ist verboten for an Establishment President. Not that he may not have wanted to ... you can only push it so far.

At the end of the day Trump is no Republican. He hates the founding principles - essential liberty ABOVE the legitimate authority of Government and limitations to Gov't power - consent of the Governed.

Most of his moves can be understood through his Eugenics/Social Darwinism ideology (not to be confused with Hitler in any way shape or form). He has no respect for the raging masses. If you are not part of the Elite - the genetically chosen ones - Trump has little use for you.

And lastly - in case you were wondering - at least we did not have to listen to nails on the Chalkboard Hillary for 4 years... so than Trump for that.

Got some bad TDS. Either that or a man crush on him. I don't know or care. What you need to ask yourself is why you need to bring Trump into every post? It is not healthy. He won, it is time top accept the fact.

Holy carp what a strange post. You were the one that brought up the Trump comparison and yammered on about how great he was. All I had done up to this point was respond to a poster comparing Trumps Military service to Tulsi. I did not bring Trump into the equation. It was you and the other poster who did that.

If you do not want to talk about Trump - then quit talking about him :) When you bring Trump into a conversation - and talk about how Great he is - due to your man crush or some such thing - don't cry like a baby when someone responds to your Trump comment.

Then - you go off your meds again by saying "He won, its time to accept the fact" - when I stated in my post that I am glad that Trump won.

    Issues ?

!!!! - Isn't that the Truth. How many Democrats have resisted hyper partisan idiocy and come out in favor of any of Trumps policies other than Tulsi ? (not many - but Tulsi for sure).

Like or dislike Tulsi - she is not your typical politician. She has a proven track record of running against the herd - and being right about it. That takes kahuna's.

She is one of a very few in the ring (on either side) that has a proven anti-Establishment track record. Rand Paul would be another but we do not know if he is even in the ring at this point.

If the Dems has a lick of sense they would back this woman full on - but they don't - they are going out of their way to trash her. Trash her for disagreeing with Obama/Hillary's arming and supporting Al Qaeda (the 911 terrorist group .. yeah .. that one).

The anti-Establishment movement was a big factor in the last election. It will be an even bigger factor in the 2020 election .. hands down.

    Tulsi is the anti-Establishment candidate.

I still think they'll find a way to nominate Michelle Obama. Mark my words.

Seemed unlikely on Nov 9 2016, less so now. If this were a betting site I'd probably cash out for thrice the bet I put down right about now

I think perhaps in 2024. There have not been any indications so far that she will run but, there is still a fair bit of time. I am wondering if Biden is going to give it a shot. I don't think Kamala has much of a Chance. Still way to early to even hazard a guess IMO.

Harris is a heavy favorite at the moment among the odds makers... as low as 3-1 - which is ridiculously low so early on. This has much to do with the fact that only a few have announced so far though.

Yeah, an unaccomplished woman trying to cash in on her husband. That worked really well for Hillary didn't it?

Not to be a stickler OP, BUT, Trump won the Electoral Collage vote handily via me & my ilk's ardent & continued support. Perhaps you should say 1/2 the nation, lol.

Though I don't subscribe to Gabbard's political & ideological world views, she has 'real world' experience (producing a good / providing a service) unlike her academia & public office rivals aka Pocahontas & Harris, lol. Gabbard is a woman I can admire in her own right. Y'all could do a lot worse, & I fear that y'all ultimately will...

Sure Trump won but , that was prior to knowing what kind of President he would be. I for one was glad that I did not have to be subjected to the arrogant condescending "nails on the chalkboard" Hillary for 4 years.

Trump ran as anti-Establishment - drain the swamp. Trump has turned out to be an Establishment wonk who "IS" the swamp and has filled his admin with swamp people.

In addition - his platitude speak - over and over and over- has gotten old. Obama promised Hope and Changed and turned out to be an Establishment wonk .. the same is true of Trump.

What political and ideological views of Gabbard are you not fond of ?

The best anyone can hope for in their ideal candidate is getting a fraction of what is promised during the campaign; 30% would be a good # in general. His base (myself included) are wildly enthused & grateful that Trump has delivered so much is such a short two years; somewhere in the 70ish percentile. In another post I enumerated, off the top of my head, some of his (bullet point) most notable / consequential achievements, as I see things. I'd be more than willing to share them in response to any query or expressed interest btw. Yup, we his base are exponentially more behind Trump with every mo. that passes by, (generally speaking) +70 %... :) !

I think Gabbard is by far the best DP presidential hopeful. She could be a very effective president.
So, she will never be allowed to win the nomination.

“Before I called Bernie Sanders, I lit a candle in my living room and put on some gospel music. I wanted to center myself for what I knew would be an emotional phone call.

I had promised Bernie when I took the helm of the Democratic National Committee after the convention that I would get to the bottom of whether Hillary Clinton’s team had ***rigged*** the nomination process, as a cache of emails stolen by Russian hackers and posted online had suggested. I’d had my suspicions…”
POLITICO, Inside Hillary Clinton’s Secret Takeover of the DNC, When I was asked to run the Democratic Party after the Russians hacked our emails, I stumbled onto a shocking truth about the Clinton campaign., By DONNA BRAZILE November 02, 2017. (*** mine)
