You are right. Up to my age then of 42, I was a devoted ass hat member of the Democratic party. I knew everything. Then I devoted from around age 40 to 42 actually studying the factual history of voting and what each party was good at. Aghast I changed my voting registration to republican. I own a great book called "A time for Truth" author William E. Simon that shook me up and got me to investigate. Then I started to read the books by Thomas Paine. Oh I read way more books than that. I knew party officials in the Democratic party and most I liked and actually liked talking to them. But the party itself was god awful. Best move I made was to change parties. I have the Paine books and plenty of other books about our history. Prior to that my favorite books were books on Calculus, physics and Chemistry along with business law and business books. I had dinner in Sacramento with a politicians called Bill Lockyer and the man was pathetic. He was well known for taking invitations for a free meal and we accommodate him. He was formerly a school teacher who I believed was interested in educating children. I tried to speak to him on that topic and all he wanted to talk to me about are CA bridge tolls. It disgusted me but I did learn about our toll system. At the time we did not meet, but as I was sworn in as a CA director of the CA association of Realtors, a post I held for 3 years, I got my fill of politics and at the swearing in dinner, our state speaker was Leon Panetta. Though a Democrat, his speech was impressive. . I had by then revolted from the Democrats and voted republican. Panettas talk was more of a report on CA than what he was doing in DC. Study Bill Lockyer and learn how a Democrat party leader kind of guy entered as a State assemblyman and clawed out until he retired a full time politician animal career. He married a pretty woman who ended up having sex with men while married to Bill. She had a drug problem though she was herself a lawyer. She spends quite a lot of time at rehab and having trouble with the legal system of CA. Reports are she gets pissed at Bill and the cops arrest her and jail her.
I don't hold stuff that she said when she was still in school almost 20 years ago. That she grew as a person when she became an adult is something to be applauded. I expect her views when she is 57, 20 years from now to be different again. I know that my views on politics and certainly gay rights, have change significantly since I was 20 years old.
What is the reason for this post? The dems have already changed the superdelegate process so that they can not even vote in the first call. they can only vote if the frontrunner does not have a winning amount. Now this is even more fair to me than the republicans superdelegates that can vote even though they were not elected to do so.
How are they throwing them under a bus. Again, you think gays don't believe that 20 years ago Clinton and Gore were against, Openly gays serving in the military and being able to be married. Any gay group that holds a college age persons views 20 years ago, to today's mores is wrong.
And that is the right way of looking at a change in opinion from a 20 YO to an adult. When your a teen or in school, your parents and your teachers views greatly influence your beliefs. Ten years and a tour in Iraq later your views are more your own.
Oh please, this won't go away that easily. The past is open game, look how folks here go after things Trump did or didn't do 40 years go. She was an adult when she said it, so she's accountable for it, even now. Not that I care, she has no shot, its not her turn, so the DNC will rig the primaries against whatever happens...
Yeah she is accountable for it and apologized for it and the GLBT community accepted her apology 10 years ago and has since endorsed her runs for congress. And as far as trum 40 years ago he was her age now.
Too bad its not her turn, the DNC will never allow her to win the primaries, ask Bernie about how that works...
Again, the Dems have changed the nominating process earlier this summer in response to Clinton's stormtrooper approach to the convention.
My tour was in Germany and frankly though I believed the Army sucked, at least I was able to buy two cars there,. travel a lot and made a lot of money by loaning money to men in my HQ company.
DNC establishment is already looking to smear, but this one is easily made ineffective if asked about on the debate stage. She can simply go into all of the pro LGBTQ+ legislation she has supported while in office. Actions speak louder than the words of CNN pundits.
Yeah, every media source has a favorite candidate to push, they will tar every other candidate until the primaries start. You get a candidate that does not share their world view democrat or not they will be painted poorly
And by "Stormtroope", you mean "crushing Sanders in the vote count." It wasn't even close. Clinton won huge, by democracy. Pretending anything was rigged is RepubliRussian propaganda.
You're wrong. Even Lil Debbie admitted that the super delegate was created so a grass roots candidate like Bernie couldn't beat the DNC's choice. That's why Clinton was able to tie Sanders on delegates coming out of the New Hampshire primary even though he decimated her in the popular vote by 22 percentage points. Clinton entered New Hampshire's primary with an advantage: six of the state's eight superdelegates. So she had been awarded delegates before a single vote was cast.
WTF, I don't know if you can't read or I can't converse. In post 129 I said that the dems HAVE CHANGED the superdelegate rules because of what happened to Sanders in 16..
It was not rigged by any means, But all the super delegates did not reflect the general proportion vote count and certainly did not vote in proportion to the vote total in that state. I am all for giving the politicians and dedicated party workers a junket, but there is nothing "democratic" about it. The DNC was pretty much a rubber stamp for Clinton's candidacy. ( I voted for her in the General election) who they choose to be delegates out side of elected officials were pretty much in clinton's camp in spirit if not in actual practice. And Brazille confirmed that the DNC was not fair in any dealings with Sanders until they were caught as an arm of the Clinton machine.
No, not by any means. Sanders supporters in addition to agreeing to his social and international policies were also joined by a significant "anybody but her" vote. With so many running on a platform so close to his, I think he now becomes the new Ted Kennedy conscience of the liberal wing of the party. He won't announce his removal until a month before Iowa
