Hi guys. Here's another important subject. Turkish schools in Iraqi Kurdistan as a part of the huge Turkish economical and cultural influence on Iraqi Kurdistan. There're several Turkish schools in the region and KRG seems happy with them. PM Nechirvan Barzani encourages Turks to come and invest more, saying "Turkey is our friend, we will not forget the Turkish help in the early 90's" Here's the first Turkish university in the region: [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OFAT_XTkNOQ"]Fezalar EÄitim Kurumları Orta DoÄuda Kuzey Irakta ilk IÅık üniversitesi açıldı - YouTube[/ame] http://www.ishikuniversity.net/ And other Turkish schools in the region so far: Işık Koleji-Hewlêr Işık Erken Koleji-Duhok Ronaki İlkokulu-Hewlêr Işık Kız Koleji-Soran Nilüfer Kız Koleji-Hewlêr Işık Kız Koleji-Duhok Gulan İlkokulu-Hewlêr Salahaddin Eyyubi-Süleymaniye Işık İlkokulu-Duhok Işık Ortaokulu-Hewlêr Serçınar İlkokulu-Süleymaniye Süleymaniye Kız Koleji-Süleymaniye Çağ Erkek Koleji-Kerkük Işık Çocuk Kreşi-Hewlêr Işık Ünvr-Hewlêr Çağ Kız Koleji-Kerkük Tumelik İlkokulu-Süleymaniye Işık Erkek Koleji-Soran Musul Işık Koleji What do you think of them? The schools are connected to the Gulen movement, which is the biggest supporter of AKP and Erdogan.
there is no proof for those names you listed , also if there is no kurdish schools in turkey there wont be any turkish schools in S.kurdistan either , i dont care what former PM says its for media .
http://www.dengeazad.com/NewsDetailN.aspx?id=6461&LinkID=137 Here's the source. Alan you don't care what Barzani said, which is understandable since the recent difficulty between Turkey and the region. But what Barzani said is KRG's official position, right?
Wow that's interesting. Here's the school in Kirkuk. http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=1423582156377&set=o.229343149493&type=3&theater Kirkuk Cag Erkek Koleji - As listed. Please contact them and confirm that they exist in Kirkuk.
1st its a teaching course not school and it says "private college" . 2nd they are not "turkish" it is for the "turkmens" who have nothing to do with "turkey" . and i will look into it see if this "private teaching course" is still open .
there is a country called "Turkmenistan" that language course might be related to them but not turkey please dont post un-confirmed info on here .
But the schools belong to the Turkish institution. Here's the official page. http://www.misyon.net/fezalar/index.php?cid=4 The schools seems to be available for Turkish speaking Iraqis too. And they don't say that they're simply a course. They claim they are private schools which is an equivalent of state schools. And, please don't tell me who is a Turkmen and who is not. I am an Avshar Turkmen. Not all Turkomans came from what is now Turkmenistan and what's more the Turks in Turkey came from similar areas as well. But this is not the point. I said the school are Turkish. That's all. Kapish?
Actually there isn't probably enough Iraqi Kurdish capital to influence Turkey culturally. Like there're many American schools in Turkey but not that many Turkish schools in the US. If you mean the problem of Kurdish being official educational language in Turkey, that's still a problem which should immedietely be solved as far as I am concerned. Though Kurdish education in private courses are totally allowed, and some Turkish universities have Kurdology programmes.
Actually turkey has a biggest, many 1000 years old Kurdish community.15- 20 000 000? couple of schools d be logical
Logically there should be. And there must be, If you ask me. This is really a shame. But notice that the Kurdish people, unfortunately, have been so poor for centuries. That's also probably why the Kurdish people couldn't get their freedom. But this is going to be changed, for sure. They are getting richer and richer, and they will build their own private schools not only in Turkey but around the world also, hopefully. But this thread is more about the Turkish positive intention to the region.
man the "private schools" they have already in mountains ...you know turkey is a legitimate home for them, kurds have all rights to get educated in kurdish if they want it
Sure, they should have all the rights to get education in Kurdish. No discussion there. But this thread is more about private education industry -specifically the Turkish industry. If you ask me whether there's a Kurdish education industry - Based on Iraqi Kurdistan. Well even if there is, not that influential in Turkey. Private school in mountains? That's new. You mean PKK camps?
ok turkey does not allow kurdish schools , but wants to even spread there language in south kurdistan ? lol . i tel you there is no turkish schools in KRG except private courses . turkey does not allow kurds to have kurdish schools on there home land but turks come all the way to australia and open there turkish schools but deprive kurds same right in there native lands !! more double standards .
There is no such thing as Turkish Kurdistan. There is South Eastern Turkey only. By the way, this thread gave a clue about why the user "the turk" is here.Gülen movement and promoting his schools with a byzantine avatar. He is one of those fettoş fans I guess.Crying cardinal lol.No doubt he opens threads like "good old friends" with kdp and bull(*)(*)(*)(*). Religious clan members with Turk nicks and byzantine avatars.Kurd propaganda puppets barking all the time and they call this (*)(*)(*)(*)ing place politics forum.Man I am out of this (*)(*)(*)(*)hole.Enjoy your propaganda.
Turkmens ARE Turks Azeris ARE Turks Turkmenistan IS Turkish Uzbeks are Turks Kyrgyzes are Turks and so are the Chuvashes, Kazakhs, Tatars, Uyghur, Uzbeks, Bashkirs, Qashqai, Gagauzs, Yakuts, Crimean Karaites, Krymchaks, Karakalpaks, Karachays, Nogais. There are more than 160 million Turkic people around the world- now try to swallow that number easily- careful, it might hurt your stomach
There are people in facebook claiming that they gratuated from Kirkuk Cag, look at this profile: http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=1437444256 And, Ishik university, is that a private course too? Don't be lame. Even Ishik University explains itself as a continuity of Fezalar highschools. Boy. Calm down. I am an atheist and secularist as I said several times before. I posted many messages to glorify Turkey's secular past, too. As for the schools, I wouldn't try to hide them though, they are still Turkish, no matter what. If the schools belonged to Nesin Vakfi, I would still be glad to promote them here since they would still be the product of our country. That's my point. Be cool and enjoy.
you have to choose something this one http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pan-Turkism or this one http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Neo-Ottomanism
turkmens in iraq and iran they are of turkic background who came from Azerbaijan and turkmanistan . not turkey . they dont speak turkish i am froim kerkuk city of south kurdistan there is a small minority turkmen in the city and they tell me its not turkish but azheri .
I choose this http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pan-Islamism but your second option, Neo-Ottomanism is a good start too, lets start with that and see where it goes.
Turkmens, Azeris they are all Turkish, are they called Frenchmens or Britishmens, no, they are called TURK MENS (look at my nickname if that word dont ring a bell) lets have a look at Turkmenistan, is it called Frenchmanistan or Britishmanistan? no, they are called TURK MENISTAN Azeri's and especially the Uzbeks are even more Turkic then all the rest of them in the group, i can easily understand Uzbeks, understanding Uzbek language is easier than understanding Kurds when they speak Turkish.
It has nothing to do with 'influence' most of the schools you mentioned are aimed at the Turkmen minority in Kurdistan that number close to 150,000, by law they are allowed to open schools that teach in their language (unlike in Turkey) so I don't see what is so special about that.. even Assyrians have their own schools.... the ishik university/schools are an English-teaching university/schools, but Kurdish/Turkish is available too, the biggest universities in the KRG are Kurdish and the second ones are English using universities. Işık University, opened by the Fezalar Educational Company, which has been providing educational services in the region since 1994, will provide English-language education for 450 students this year. http://www.todayszaman.com/newsDetail_getNewsById.action?load=detay&link=159588 By posting this you just showed to the world how bad Turkey is! while we allow Turkmen to do as they please, you deny Kurds the most basic rights (i.e. learning their own language in schools)
