Much of it is. Until people from both sides of the gun issue come together, put aside their differences and honestly work on the problem it will continue to be.

The research should not be about the gun it should be about the cause. The gun is not the cause of violence it is simply the implement.

A man who decides to kill his family and uses a bat instead of a gun is still a violent man. If you control the guns you may save some lives but you will have failed to address the real problem.

 

Of course you do, many of the same names (David Hemenway, Deborah Azrae) that have been debunked and again supported by anti gun funding.
Anyone can assemble a bibliography to support their point, particularly one that has no links to the underlying analyses.
One major thing I note, much of the body of anti gun research (so called) was available along with the studies by many of the authors you listed with their earlier works and revied by CDC in their study in gun violence in 2012 and despite being funded by the Obama Admin, the CDC did not find them compelling.

You know very well that filling out forms to save a few lives is not going to address the true problem of violence in America. You keep indicating that people here seem so unwilling to simply fill out a form or go through a waiting period yet you are just as unwilling to address the true problem.

The CDC is denied funding for the purpose of advocating and promoting firearm-related restrictions. They are free to study the matter to whatever extent they wish, but they are forbidden from advocacy for certain policies.

 

A form, and well over one trillion dollars a year just to try and enforce the paperwork requirement, in the vain and desperate hope that it will do some measurable good.

The NRA uses the FBI Uniform Crime Reports, followed up by the CDC injury database (WISQARS). The UCR is the direct source of crime data for the USA.

The VPC uses massaged data from third parties, often data whose provenance cannot be determined.
