Most countries prefer alignment with the U.S. over China when the White House is occupied by a Democrat, according to Gallup poll data going back to 2007.

“Significantly more countries seem to prefer U.S. leadership over Chinese leadership, at least under Democratic administrations,” Gallup said in its report released Monday, adding that a Republican executive comes with a “net approval disadvantage.”

Gallup’s report showed that in 2023, nearly half (48%) of the world’s countries leaned towards the U.S. over China — which was favored by 21% of the more than 130 countries polled. A fifth of the nations were found to be “strongly aligned” with the U.S., the highest rate since 2009.

Throughout most of the Trump administration, a larger share of countries had favored China, which changed as Democrat Joe Biden took office at the start of 2021.

“The magnitude of these swings comes into stark focus when one compares country alignments across years,” the global analytics and advisory firm said, citing similar party-related trends under the George Bush and Barack Obama administrations.

Makes sense given the MAGA god's temperamental instability, favorable view of despots, unfavorable view of NATO, and overall buffoonery. As for Shrub, as the excellent Molly Ivins used to call him, no one has fond memories of the Iraq debacle, the international financial crisis, or how things went in the ME after we were not greeted with flowers and candies. Then you have the embarrassment that is the House Repub's with their sophistry and far Right radicalism, causing an inability to govern.

No doubt the rest of the world views more adversarial superpower relations with apprehension. Enthusiasm for WW III is lacking.

Everyone loves having their dick sucked, and nobody sucks the dick of other countries harder than the Democratic Party.

The real questions are why is this news and how exactly do they think they think they get their dicks sucked if they open their fly for China?

When Trump is President, we don't have leadership in the country. Much less in the world.

Since Republicans can't deny this fact, their most likely response will be to refuse to acknowledge that being world leaders has huge advantages for us.

If you are last in a long line of cars, the car in front is not a leader. He is blocking traffic. Biden fits that description. He is more of a block to world leadership than actually being a leader. The biggest and longest lasting memory is that disastrous withdraw from.
    Afghanistan.

There is an old expression. "Lead, follow or get out of the way".

What an eloquent way with words you have. Would you care to explain yourself in less anatomical and more real world language?
