Strange we dont hear more about this... Specially this little tidbit...

Spurred by uprisings in Tunisia and Egypt, Bahraini citizens demonstrated in early 2011, demanding democratic reforms and other changes in the way the country was run.

But the movement failed to gain the traction of other Arab Spring uprisings after a crackdown by authorities. Bahraini security forces were backed by troops from nearby Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates.

Demonstrators say authorities killed dozens of citizens and arrested, tortured and sentenced hundreds of others.

You see our media wont detail things like this 24/7 and be outraged because it is our "allies" doing it.

Just like for years we sent people to Egypt to be tortured under "Rendition" with our buddy Mubarek. Remember him?

I am actually going to defend Obama *gasp* for taking his time on this one. I am not entirely convinced that this was done by Assad (short of some admission that I missed) since they supposedly found chemical weapons with some rebels and in the past the victims have actually blamed the rebels and not Assad for the attacks. As time goes on an on this does appear to be one of those famous false flag operations that conspiracy theorists are fond of. Assad has also been winning lately, albeit slowly, but he has had the upper hand. It makes no tactical of strategic sense for him to goad the international community by using chemical weapons. Assad is not an idiot.

This guy has been keeping a nice blog with various news stories and comes from a perspective of being a former dick sucking (*)(*)(*)(*)(*)(*)(*).......I mean Muslim Brotherhood member and is now reformed i.e. no longer a knuckle dragging moron that makes Corky look like a member of Mensa.

I don't think either side in Syria is sane and rational.

So there is nothing to be gained by US involvement in their civil war.

Brits are smart, not the little rich boy that leads it, but the parliament. If Obama leads the USA into WW3 then they can sit it out and watch the USA take all the blows.

    - - - Updated - - -

UK parliament has balls, Reid and The Boner apparently do not.

Obama is the idiot for threatening the Syrians. Now, he either backs down or attacks another Arab nation's gov't for Muslims Islamists.

NOW THAT'S an idiot. The Democrat party picked a neophyte, and raised him up to president because...well..I let them tell you why:

Perhaps I've missed some important news. Does Syria have Warcraft lined up off our American shores prepared to invade? If not than how is bombing Syria defending the United States? The president is not defending the United States he's making war on another country without a declaration. You cannot use the rules of defense to conduct an offense.

It boggles my mind how our elected officials conduct themselves. Gotta give the UK credit for thinking instead of blindly following.

If I were king I'd pull all our assets out of the entire ME. Park all our carrier groups off the shore of Israel and let the ME settle their own squabbles. Within ten years all would be quiet.

Like i said do what they want and then try to justify it after its done.... Somehow if Syria, Iran, Russia and China had a "coalition of countries" that agreed on attacking our bases in the ME we would sit back and say they have a legal basis........

First it was "National Security" when that didnt fly it changed to "National Interests" soon it will be "(*)(*)(*)(*) you we do what we want".

I think we've already gone beyond "national interests" and entered the soon zone.

Seems the difference between a coalition and conspiracy is which way the muzzles are pointed. We Americans would be wise to consider that.

They are wise. Syria is a crap hole. Obama should have done the right thing when this upriseing started two years ago when the people involved were actual Syrians seeking to be free of tyranny. Now they are backed by Hezbollah and Al Queda elements, helping them now would be empowering our enemies. What Assad did was utterly deplorable and immoral and he should be tried in the world court and a long drop on a short rope. Oil prices are a concern, but involving ourselves in another Vietnam like proxy war in the middle east is a political and economic and moral disaster.

The Brits are a piece of work. They have been doing "regime change" for centuries.

They were heck bent for leather to change the Libyan gov't, which they dealt with for decades because of OIL.

Now, the Syrian gov't likely committed a war crime and a crime against humanity and they want to do NOTHING.

Why? They don't have much OIL.

They love to act like they are the soul of the world, but they are out for themselves. They always have been.

The scary part is that the UK Nanny State is THE model welfare state for the American Left.

What do you mean "The Brits"? Because the people don't want another war, but the people haven't done "regime change". The government wants to end the chemical attacks, but the House of Commons voted down the PM.

So your little history story is pretty much 100% a big fat lie.

Syria is different. We should have backed the rebels when they first started. But Obama the Coward did not want to back real fighters who sough actual freedom from tyranny. Now that Hezbullah and Al Queda are in play he suddenly has a conscience? We have no friends in Syria because od MaO'Bama and we have no interests there either.

I am willing to bet that the weapons used were originally in Iraq and the progressive leftists do not want that little tid-bit to get out.

Why is Obama not calling congress back to ask for their approval to strike Syria?

Okay now they have a very capable professional army but they have a point until they get the UN report, do a proper investigation and then work on a strategy diplomatic and military its to early to act. And after Iraq they don't trust the US. If there is a coalition formed to deal with Syria I'm sure the Brits will be in it.

I would not be surprised to find that it was the CIA who engineered the attack to drive the consensus for attacking Syria.
Wesley Clark gave a speech several years ago in which he claimed that the neocon military industrial complex had decided that several nations in the oil regions of the ME and Africa needed to be toppled to secure the vital interests of the US. So far, the plan has been unfolding like clockwork.

Well, if we attack Syria unilaterally, Obama will have completed his transformation into Bush.
