I'm not here to convince you.

You SHOULD be insightful enough to do your own research.

    But instead we get LINKS!!!!!!!

Your posts are quite unreadable. Get back to me when you learn how to properly format a post.

Hopefully by then you'll have an argument that somehow supports the idea that we should immediately trust and react to "war news" as if it's gospel truth.

After all, this guy is so trustworthy. Not controlling of media at all..

Initial reports said one one reactor was functioning.

Latest reports say none are functioning and therefore inert.

Well, if the power goes out then so do communications. All those cell phones and internet access provided by power chargers and satellite internet respectively will be rendered useless. Wiping out the advantage the Ukrainians have in defending their country.

I don't think the Russians care about radiation release. They also have troops guarding the Chernobyl reactor site, and radiation levels spiked there.

I think that is correct, though I am no authority. I will repeat again, that no one is saying that a meltdown is imminent. It is, still, generally against good safety policy, to allow a fire to burn, uncontrolled, for any appreciable amount of time, in a nuclear power plant. I also would guess that regulations would generally frown on the continued firing of even mortars, on nuclear facilities, though they are not likely to damage the reactor, itself.

I believe the chief concern has to do with cooling systems, which are self-powered by the plant. That is, when one turns off the reactor, as is the Russian's intent, one need employ backup energy systems. It is possible that these systems may be damaged, in the fighting. Or they may have been already interfered with, by Russians turning off power generation (and maybe transmission), anywhere they find it. It is also not inconceivable that the Russians will not know how to run these systems & may not have immediate access to those who do, because of having killed them.

I think Ukraine should keep the plant going and keep defending itself. If Europe doesn’t care - why should they submit to a butcher?

Of course I will. I note, it was not provided, by you. Further, I doubt you looked into the issue at all, despite your dispensing of so many unsupported contentions, because one of your claims-- that you'd heard reports of elevated radiation levels-- I do not believe had ever been made. So all just one big, tossed bat guano salad, you were spewing.

Ah, good old fashioned speculation. That's even better than controlled media news reports from a few hours ago.

It's totally conceivable that the Russians wouldn't know how to operate a reactor that they designed and installed all over the eastern hemisphere.

All I know is I'm tired of watching this thug hold a nuclear gun to our head while he rapes one country after another. We have nukes as well, so I say it's time to call that bluff, because it IS a bluff. Vlad doesn't have a deathwish.

Even if you could get a doctor to prescribe me the appropriate amount of crack I'd need to ingest to make sense of that visual nightmare, I'd still rather wait for the adult reading version to hit the stands.

What a d*m*ass comment. So you think there are nuclear engineers, embedded with the troops?
Do I have to cut up your food that small, for you to understand?

Okay Fang-fang: it is possible that the Russian SOLDIERS who are trying to take over, the plant, would not be familiar with its operation-- particularly, with auxiliary systems, not normally employed.

Now swallow slowly; we wouldn't want you to choke, and spit it up.

    Not from you, we don't.

    I did ask, though.

And I had done my own research, with a link (in the OP).
It was you, who was trying to counter that, with your own, linkless, information.

So it's hard to know just what kind of turd claim of yours I'm even flushing, here.

Sanctions against Putin and the oligarchs should have been his first step instead of sanctions against the people of Russia. Why is Biden protecting Putin but willing to hurt everyday Russians?

No it doesn't make much sense. Which is why I will wait to see if Russians really are attacking the plant For all we know, these are stray bullets or shells from something going on at a distance. Also, where do all those things shot at the russian airplanes eventually land if they don't hit?

I can see evil Putin blowing up schools and hospitals but attacking a nuclear power plant seems absurd. Not rationally benefiting him.

Would you get your story straight? Is cutting off the power the focus of Russian forces like you claimed? Are you now claiming the Russians are just a bunch of boobs randomly firing at buildings? You think they are focused with no clue how to achieve that goal? Maybe. Maybe that's not a very bright thing to assume.

All of these assumptions you keep making are based on reports that are already stale. No the Russians weren't attacking from all sides. No, the reactors cannot blow up 10 times worse then Chernobyl when hit by a missile. Maybe initial reports aren't all that trustworthy...

By the way, what caused the fire? Incoming assumption!

If the wind was blowing from the east maybe you'd assume Ukraine lit the fire themselves in a brave attempt to scare the Russians away.
