The UN General Assembly overwhelmingly approved the first UN treaty regulating the multibillion-dollar international arms trade Tuesday, a goal sought for over a decade to try to keep illicit weapons out of the hands of terrorists, insurgent fighters and organized crime.
The resolution adopting the landmark treaty was approved by a vote of 154 to 3 with 23 abstentions. As the numbers appeared on the electronic board, loud cheers filled the assembly chamber group of treaty supporters sought a vote in the 193-member world body after Iran, North Korea and Syria blocked its adoption by consensus at the end of a two-week final negotiating conference last Thursday.
The three countries IRAN, SYRIA AND NORTH KOREA voted "no" on Tuesday's resolution while Russia and China, both major arms exporters, abstained.

( If Palestine was a reality, the vote against would turn into 4 votes.)
This is sad news to Hammas and Hezbollah.

There is no provision for blocking arms sales to non-State entities. That means that the US of AIPAC and its client State can arm insurrection against legitimate governments with impunity. That's what we're currently witnessing in Syria.

Palestine is a reality. It's assumed that the US of AIPAC has already worked out how it can continue to supply nauseating quantities of armaments to Israel.

Ah. By the spirit of the treaty Israel won't be getting any.

If I hear that the US has stopped supplying weapons to Bahrain and the zionist murderers and all the other terrorists it arms, and grounded all their drones then maybe I would consider believing this new UN news will help end death and destruction but until then it means zero.

    Yeah, drones ain't covered.

The US of AIPAC is sinking under the weight of domestic guns and yet postures to prevent foreigners from having any.

The United States is the biggest seller of arms in the world . We are also the most Likely to start a war. So obviously our support for this legislation is sincere.
