It's always one of those two things to avoid the conversation.

Show me where I made such a claim, because I reread what I posted, and can't see such a claim.

Union thugs tend to be lazy jackasses who require additional protections from being fired and require someone else to bargain on their behalf. The Constitution protects individuals, not collectives, we need to end all that commie nonsense. Letting these lazy bums all go and hire people who aren't semi-professional whiners would be a good start...

Maybe Crazy Bernie will give them Medicare for all? GM needs to hold out for ending Union Dues Check off. If it was me I'd offer the health benefits back with a raise but the company will no longer collect Union Dues for the union. It's really hard when Unions have to send goons around to collect the dues every month. Once folks get the money in their hands, they won't give up the dues very easily. It's the easiest and quickest way to break the back of the Union.

It's also legally questionable in many states. Not all, but many of them.

If you're referring to dues check off, it's negotiated in the contract.

Also depends on a particular state's right-to-work laws.

Did forcing the company to collect Union Dues for the Union become law? I'm asking because I don't know.

No, it didn't. But here in Michigan, when they passed Right-to-Work laws, they prohibited the school districts from automatically deducting union dues from union members.

Is it an opt in/opt out system or is it prohibited completely.

It's an opt in/opt out system, but the GOP legislature set it up that even if you opt in, those that do have to pay their dues outside of the payroll system. No automatic deduction. It's really vindictive.
