Two highly intelligent replies. Un-skillful dodges. Sign of a Trump-hater.

I'm still trusting that the sane, Left and Right, VASTLY outnumber the nut-cases, Left and Right.

It's funny because Trump was supposedly elected to drain the swamp.

After 4 years, you make exactly the same observation as in 2016.

So either Trump is an incompetent or he himself is part of the problem or the swamp doesn't exist.

Then you remember the division. It wasn't just racial division, which was much worse than today. There was Vietnam, multiple assassinations, the Chicago Seven, Charles Manson, etc., etc., but also a huge cultural divide which can't be ignored.

We've moved on from hair length and drug use, but things don't look a whole lot different to me today, as far as the culture wars go, seen through a political lens. Each side's "thing" changes with the times, but their opposition to each other doesn't.

Everything else was much worse back then, as I'm hoping you'll agree.

Things are changing. Maybe too rapidly for some, but I see no need for concern.

I had to cut my answer short on was around for the 60's. I was and went through the riots of 66', 67, and 68 in Detroit. Back in those days Detroit was the murder Capital of the World. Today I guess Chicago or St. Louis might hold the title. I seen block after block get burned down and even today you can see the aftermath of what happens when chaos runs amok. Detroit use to be the 5th largest city in the world. After the riots , what business that was left moved away and no new business moved in except the drug trade and prostitution. What ever was salvageable was stripped by thieves. White flight took hold and left neighborhoods abandoned. The houses became targets for fires and destruction. The tax base had left and factories moved overseas. Pension Funds were raided and collapsed and the state had to take control of the city government.

I see a couple Senators try and work across the aisle like Chris Coons and Joe Manchin and Susan Collins, Ben Sass, and Mitt Romney. So all is not lost. We will see what the next election brings. If we still have the die-hards running the show it will be awhile for any fruitful advancement.

Is there a point you want to make?

I expect more out of the POTUS than childish nicknames. You have your bar, and I have mine.

Trumps advisors, RINOS, and establishment types did not do Trump well. It was like how dare someone who is not a politician become the Commander in Chief. Then again Trump didn't help himself by putting names on all of them.
I don't know if it is drainable but it is bigger all of us thought and the creatures that have had their section drained can live out of water and they are angry.

Yes, ironically, it was Gingrich's impeachment that stoked the political divide we see now. But political opponents were able to walk and chew gum at the same time, something severely lacking now.

Should those ostriches be fighting against those protesters? Or should they be listening and doing what they can to make sure the message is heard?

Back in the 80's I thought we were turning a corner on race relations and yet we seem to taking a couple steps back. Homelessness is at a pandemic stage. What use to be a helping hand has turned into a demanding hand. To be a Patriot and believe in God is now considered to be racist or anti-social and lacking empathy.

Obviously, it's unthinkable for a Trumpist to consider that Trump could also be a creature of the so called swamp.

I'm not sure anyone knows what the message is. I quit listening as soon as the first building went up in smoke.

I long for the years we were all united under President Obama. Of course that is sarcasm. As long as people want to assess blame instead of working on our problems we will continue to devour each other. America has been strong in its unity continuing to complain and offer no solutions is un-American.

When it comes to Federal property The President can put a stop to it. It is up to the states to police themselves but the resources are there for Federal aid. If the people are not demanding action in their individual states it's on them.

Do you think that if the name was Donald Trump Jr. or Eric Trump instead of Hunter that the the main street media would be covering the story differently?
