Funny how you don't hear this constant whine of Russia meddling. Not since Crowdstrike pulled out of it's former claims of Russian meddling. Surely Russia did not make a bit of difference.
It isn't just about Syria. It is about "War We Must" period. Osama bin Laden is still dead yet we have military in Afghanistan. Obama failed to get out of Afghanistan. War We Must. Get it? Two parties. One policy. Warism. Trump is the newest convert to that policy when as a candidate promised otherwise. War We Must. We dearly need the draft for any deployment over 9 months. Then see how long these "Not At War, Wars" last. If Vietnam had been an all volunteer military, we would probably still be there. Moi Don't get me started r > g
Nobody can be neutral about the use of chemical weapons against unarmed civilians, this is an atrocity, it has been unquestionably established Syria perpetrated the attack and used weapons provided by Putín. Assad should be held accountable, Putín needs to bring him to The Hague.
Where is the evidence for your claim ? Russia didn't veto an investigation into the gas attack. Russia vetoed all the crap that went with it- so much crap that the draft Resolution was a deliberate dead duck.
You should study the dead duck Resolution in which the case for an investigation of the gas attack was buried.
This is true.... But wealthy nations won't survive either if all those people migrate to them. If we want to keep these people alive, and we can't farm land around them, then we have to buy them food. That would be the case whether they are located in our countries or theirs
I can't find it. However I did find this reference to a Russian draft proposed resolution for the investigation which appears not to have bee proposed at the UNSC http://en.interfax.com.ua/news/general/414128.html
The way Trump has accused Assad in no uncertain terms for perpetrating the 'chemical attack' without the slightest proof or evidence, I find myself wondering 'Whatever happened to the 'innocent until proven guilty' clause upon which our western legal values are based. There's something sinister going on, I just know there is!
Trump has no policy and knows nothing about the ME or Syria in particular. Ivanka was heartbroken over the pics of dead babies.
The Assads have done this several times before.. You might look at Hafez Assad. He too was a vicious killer.
I really ought to put you on my ignore list because your preposterous claims about events way back in the mists of time are raising my blood pressure to alarming levels.
May I have a link to your source of that information? Excuse me, do not make equality between 'west' and democracy. We are pretty much a democratic state too, yet it didn't stopped NATO from expansion in 90th, pushing on our borders with it's military. It's not bad for Eastern Europe countries making their own politics - it's bad when a large military union presses on them to choose between my country and European Union/NATO. It damages my country's economic ties with neighbours, our foreign politics and alienates my country, making people somewhat displeased with EU and NATO and their anti-russian politics. Makes somewhat regret, that we didn't insisted enough on NATO being dissoluted along with USSR, leaving a powerful and uncontrolled military alliance in the world without a force, balancing it out or capable of forcing it to get disbanded.
Links. Sources. Proofs. NOW. You dare to accuse my country - dare to stand for your accusations. If you can't - should've not dared in the first place.
Ninian, 40,000 missiles have been shot into Saudi Arabia by Yemen and they are Russian made. I assume that Russia provides them to Iran.
Many reports over the years of Chlorine barrel bombs pushed out of helicopters. There is no Saudi/Israeli base in Jordan.
Even the term "civil war" is somewhat of a false narrative - it is an armed insurgency which is different - but, I agree with your general point. Sunni and Shia have been happily killing each other for centuries. Going in there is like taking a bat to a hornet's nest and expecting not to get stung.
I think this is a reasonable error and generaly based on politically correct thinking. Across Europe, Latin America and the Caribbean collapsing tyrannies are often followed by much better and more responsive governments, this is not the case in Muslim countries though. Something about this culture appears to reject representative governments, the people there don't want a government that is tolerant, inclusive or accomodating.
No, I don't believe we know what the Syria policy will be. He flip flops FAR to frequently for that. As for Obama, the alternative to war is talking. And, the right wing was NOT interested in war (with which I agree). So, Trump's campaign was about no war. But, he can't stick to that, dumps on NATO, ignores the UN, PO's Germany, and has a big problem with Putin. Calling that decisive or even suggesting we have a policy on Syria is ridiculous.
I'm not sure what you mean here. Obviously, Russia is a major player in Syria and is strong support for Assad.
We're in Afghanistan, because we can't just conquer them and then walk away. We don't know what Trump's policy will be, but my bet is it will come from our military, like the Bush ME policy did. Also, Trump's capabilities and temperament are much more oriented to big explosions rather than negotiated solutions. I'm way in favor of the draft.
