I agree that its important to know why he was banned in Pakistan. It may not be because he is preaching that gays should be killed and other extremist stuff such as that. It may well be that his understanding of the Quran is very different to the mainstream Pakistani belief. If British authorities were aware of his ban in Pakistan, then they should have consulted with the Pakistani government and asked for their advise - perhaps they did this, we don't know.

To be fair to Hamza Sodagar, he wasn't calling for the murder of gays. It does seem that he was running through some different Islamic beliefs of how to punish gays. I just don't want you to think of your country as a country who would allow into the country someone who CALLS for the murder of gays. I don't think the UK is quite THAT bad!

I would suggest to anyone reading that comment to read the article I sourced before taking it at any kind of face value.

Well I didn't hear back from you, but assuming you didn't go, probably for the best. There was a brief ruckus when a block of Muslims tried to block Tommy getting in, but they were dealt with and I literally did not see one single Antifa cupcake. But then, it was snowing so a bit much to ask the little lambchops to turn out.

Event was mayhem. The speech was largely inaudible as for some reason they didn't have amplification, though I think that may be a tradition for Speakers' Corner. Plus Tommy's camera live stream wasn't much better. But it was being filmed by a bunch of media outlets, so slick versions will emerge. Thousands of people were there. Can't say how many as I was in a crush, quite close to the front but very limited vision. Tommy was in and out in a flash, huge security, never saw so many police for a 5'7'' lad. Insanity.

On the way out a little group of forlorn Muslims were handing out free Korans. I couldn't get close but I think they may have endured a spot of...abuse :).

Massive sense of belonging and brotherhood. I was buzzing like a Vespa afterwards. Oh yeah, and I think he enjoyed it because he says he's doing it again next week.

Yup. No problem admitting I am wrong on something. This changes absolutely nothing to my stance though, which is that fred invoked the fact that a canadian citizen was being denied entry, and fred seemed to think that her being a queen's subject somehow would give her a magical free pass. I jumped in because I found the justification silly, and on top of that thought he was mistaken about canadians being queen's subjects. Harped on that rather than the argument that being a queen's subject gets you pretty much bubkis when it comes to opening up borders for you. My mistake. Fact still remains, she is a canadian citizen from another country. Doesn't grant her magical border powers anymore than if she were Jamaican. Fact of the matter is that the Austrian guy should be way more pissed as a EU member.

Where's your evidence for this? If this was the case, then what the hell is the point of 'queens subject' status?

Yes, that's a very good point, but why should he be more pissed in your eyes? Why should his EU membership entitle him entry into another EU country more than a queens subject being denied entry into a country which has the queen as its head of state?
