There is no political will in Washington to bring down the national debt. Voters don't vote for candidates who campaign on austerity.
and yet was no problem under Obama all of a sudden it becomes one when the GOP holds the presidency your selective concern makes you lose all credibility
Whining ass clown Sean Hannity whined about the deficit for 8yrs, Trump comes into office and not a peep about the deficit.
nope. Republicans killed every single attempt to regulate fanny/freddy from 2001-2007. Ever single bill.
I would hope more of you would catch on to the fact that the debt is deliberate. "Crisis" is always good for panicking the people and expanding the power of government over the people. The leadership of both parties are not "Republicans" or "Democrats", they are puppets for the Establishment. That is why there is never a substantive change in policy when the reins of power supposedly change hands. The Establishment crashed the stock market and collapsed the economy in 1929 - and they're going to do it again.
Meh... when you mash all the bullshit out of it, it can be fairly said that NOBODY cares about "the debt", the "debt clock", or anything having to do with running a balanced, sane economy. We let the Federal Reserve combine take over the entire ecomomy in the summer of 2007 and now we won't even TRY to take any part of control back from it. We prosper or fail at the whims of central bankers like the Fed throughout the world today -- except for two major 'players'... Russia, and China.... If you want to worry about something, don't worry about "the debt clock" or any of those pre-2007 "old school" concerns -- instead, worry about the two smartest leaders in the world: Vladimir Putin and Xi Jinping.
Well, now that Pelosi has the purse strings we should see the Federal Debt coming down? I look forward to that!
Here's one for y'all RepubliCrats - and addresses the heart of the problem... Where in the Constitution are Fanny/Freddy even authorized?? The business of the rule of law and self governance aren't as much fun as "he said, she said" tailchasing though, huh??
I didn't see you here complaining when Obama brought up the debt from 10 trillion to 20 trillion, and every spending bill he suggested pushed for even more spending than congress approved. Even more shocking is that the national debt started rising again after 2014 by about 100 billion per year.
Nobody cares anymore... they really don't. When it comes to anything related to the economy, nobody pays any attention to Congress or the president anymore... no. Everybody looks directly at what the FEDERAL RESERVE SYSTEM is thinking and doing. The merest, slightest hinted nuance from the almighty-god FED is enough to send the stock markets into paroxysms of despair, or joy... every other consideration notwithstanding.... Indeed, since summer of 2007 when the Federal Reserve combine took over the entire economy of the United States, the Fed is everything, and nothing else really matters....
There is nothing in the constitution which would prevent fanny/freddy from existing. Just like the CIA, NSA, EPA, FCC, FAA and a slew of other agencies and regulatory bodies. Where are you getting lost?
Those other agencies at least have a tenuous connection to constitutional authorization. The expenditure of funds for housing, medical, social justice warfare, etc, simply does not exist. If it does exist, please tell me what it is.
