Neocolonialism: the use of economic, political, cultural, or other pressures to control or influence other countries, esp. former dependencies.

During the US terrorist wars in Central America, Richard Cooper, President Carter's Undersecretary of State for Economic Affairs warned that the "have nots" in Latin America aspired to "restructure the international economic system" in order to create "a more equitable distribution of the world's wealth" - while stressing the need to maintain the status quo in international economic system for "our own welfare", despite it's adverse effects on Third World development.

A Latin American government doesn't have to be "Marxist" to suggest an arrangement with Mr. Putin & Russia.

Obama's stupid comment :frustrated: about a "regional power" challenges Putin to be more.
And Latin America is the place to "be more" and bother :flagus: the most.

Wouldn't it be great if :flagcanada: stood on its' hind legs like a real country and made a new arrangement with Putin & Russia. Maybe a cold weather mining technology trade or agribusiness in cold weather trade agreement.

    No :flagcanada:

Russian influence is rising in many places in America: Argentina, Brazil, Venezuela, Ecuador, Peru, Bolivia and, of course, Cuba and Nicaragua. You could find cuban students in Berlin, Praha, Moscow, Kiev etc etc like nowadays (from eighties but now more) you can find argentines students in Moskava or Minsk..

They also have good relations with much of Western Europe and the non-aligned countries. The more the US keeps pushing CAFTA and the Free Trade Area of the Americas and trying to foment coups, the more they push the ALBA member states away. So many seem to not notice that the US is only hostile to the ALBA member states. ALBA is their alternative to the Free Trade Area of the Americas which is why the US sees them as another "cancer" which "must be cut out." http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ALBA

Wonder why Carlos Slim a Mexican is the richest man IN THE WORLD? I have my theory. IMO world leaders all work together for a NWO. While they entertain us with bread and circus. Poor nations are not a threat so they get less bread and few circuses.
