Certainly it's sane because the Senate Republicans in the first two years of Obama's first term did everything in their power to stall, delay and throw sand in the Senate gears. And they did a masterful job. Just because you have 60 votes in the Senate, if the other party is united and knowledgeable, you'll find it very difficult to govern. The part that really grids my jaws is all of the whining Repubs did after Reid dropped the hammer on the to allow nominees to federal positions to be allowed a vote. If they had a problem with one or two nominees, fine, that's the way the game is played. But every one? No, that's just wrong. And then don't whine when you get a sharp stick in the eye as a result.

Walk outside; look in any direction and then tell me, what would it look like if millions of people were denied minimal economic security? and they were hungry? and their kids, too? How long do you think it would be before what happened in Baltimore would look like a Sunday picnic?

Those laws and regulations are already in place, some states more stringent than others. Look into it.

The job losses bottomed out the month Obama moved over to the White House. The recession ended 6 months later, almost 7 years ago. And of course the Democrats took over control of government TWO YEARS earlier.

The mean GDP growth rate hasn't made it above 2% since Obama took office as a result of liberal Democrat economic policies. 1st Q 2015 went negative because the Obama Care Employer Mandate kicked in Jan 1st.

 

Actually, job loses bottomed out in March 2009, not January, and unemployment is now over 2 points below where it was when Obama took office.
