US energy producers roast Biden for demanding 'companies running gas stations' lower pump prices

My previous point stands. Oil companies could have chosen to not exploit the situation by not making their customers bleed dry to the bone for record profits. And so Biden is right to call out on those companies who are causing such problems for people short on money to make them pay extra for a record profit.

 

They also took billions from corona relieve funds, and still fired 60k people. And now they are making record profits by making the small man pay up for it when filling their tank.

You're still not commenting on the fact that there are record profits because companies are exploiting the situation, and not just "covering costs". That's math 101.

This has nothing to do with US oil companies making record profits by making their American customers bleed dry for it.... and Biden saying that the prices shouldn't be this high.

 

This popular internet rant over 'record profits' comes from pure ignorance. Demand for oil is higher than ever not only domestically but internationally as well. The basic precept of free market commerce is that prices rise when supply cannot meet demand. So 'record profits' are simply a byproduct of selling more of the stuff at a rate that reflects what the market is demanding. Oil companies aren't exploiting anything. If they were, if they alone hold the lock on the price of oil, then how did the majors manage to lose a combined $80 BILLION in 2020? Explain that one.


And Brandon is moronically wrong because he aimed his rant at the gas stations, the vast majority of which are privately owned or franchised and have no power whatsoever over what they buy gas at. Gas station profits per gallon are measured in pennies, literally 2 to 5 pennies per gallon Furthermore since they buy in bulk and in advance this means in times of turmoil its possible those slim profits can be wiped out by having to stay competitive with nearby stations that might have been more lucky in their purchasing due to wild price swings. So to target the gas stations themselves, as the senile lil girl sniffer and savior of the Democratic Party, President Brandon did is flat out ignorant.

 

~ Exactly on point. Inflation was 1.4% when Biden took office. It was at 7 1/2% when the Ukraine war started . How does inflation increase over 5% without a war and the president not be responsible ? Joe Biden‘s ridiculously damaging policies are 100% responsible for the struggle that this country is going through — and for the "war" in Ukraine.

 

Its truly funny that no matter how many times Brandon blames Putin for inflation and gas prices the leftist media cabal never runs one of their famous 'fact checks' to comment on how inflation was rampaging before the war started.

 

They lost money due to the pandemic. They also received billions in aid to cope with it.
So the government is there for the bad times, to help the company pull through.
And now other people are having a bad time, the government asks them to quit bleeding them drive for extra high profits.
