Oh yes. The U.S. had quite the prosperity in 1979-80. 14% inflation, and unemployment starting to creep up before surging. Yes it did peak in 1982 but employment is a lagging indicator. This means it moves behind the economy. The reason for that is that at the end of good times companies hoard labor and are reluctant to let workers go. When a recovery starts they are slow to add labor since workers still employed are eager for overtime and the plants can be made to run faster. That is also why inflation always drops at the beginning of a recovery. If all that Clinton did was get welfare reform enacted he did his job well. - - - Updated - - - We had to get into that war. Problem with Obama is that he does not love his country. He does not love the Western world. At best he considers himself a "world citizen." Please people. Stop arguing about who is worse, Obama or Bush. Sure, both are bad, but they pale in comparison to the worst dictator the US has ever seen: Abraham Lincoln. When another 600,000 Americans are murdered in a genocidal bloodbath, then we'll discuss it. Until then, Lincoln remains firmly ensconced as the worst president ever. Period.
Every US President is a war criminal or ethnic cleanser. The first concentration camps in the world were in US for the native Americans. They exist even today just under a democratic name - reservation camps.
