I need my car. Can I ask you what I'm supposed to do without the car? And where in what "city" does my husband work? Because that's news to me. And him.

So you agree Paddock didn't need his guns because there was no threat to him last Sunday night. He wanted those guns. And i get that. I want things too. I want some of Bill Gates' fortune and to sleep in the Taj Mahal We want things that we can't always have.

They have a far better chance of dying in a car wreck on the way to the concert than getting shot while there

Wherever your husband works move closer and you won't need a car. He can walk to work and you can walk to the store. You choose to live somewhere you can do neither thus you choose to drive a car

My husband works out of his home office. He does walk to work. It's about 13 feet from our bedroom.

So you want to ban cars now. I think you should consider asking your Congressional rep if you can go down to Capitol Hill and argue for car banning because cars aren't necessary.

If your husband works at home then he doesn't need a car. Now move closer to a shopping center and you won't need a car either. Until then you choose to own a car because you like where you live and to live there you need a car. You create the need with your lifestyle choices.

The neat thing about America is that we don't get to decide what others "need". Not even you. Or are you one of those nanny state liberals who decides what kind of cars we should drive?

Please let me know how well your quest to ban privately owned cars works out, Sawyer. I don't think you're going to find any support for your cause. But I do wish you luck.

So I've gotten through to you with my car comparison. Now you get it, congratulations.

Yes, you want to ban cars because you decided Americans don't need them. I wish you luck with that argument.

And you agree that Stephen Paddock didn't need his guns last week because nobody posed a threat to him. That's a better argument for you to make. Probably almost everyone in America would agree with that. Nobody else in America thinks we don't need cars.

Good luck with whatever you're trying to accomplish, Sawyer.

Not sure if I mentioned this before. But... new studies show that access to hospital care kills upwards of 98K folks a year in this country. Folks go to the hospital, and die because they went there, not because their illnesses or injuries killed them. This is now the third leading cause of death in this country. Think about it. roughly 269 people a day. Roughly a Las Vegas every two days. Is this why liberals are pushing single payer??

So, yes, we have many alternative things to be worried about in our nation. Driving produces more deaths a year by a factor of 1000 compared to death by maniacal sniper in our country. More folks were killed/injured in Nice last year because of a rogue truck. It simply hasn't happened yet in this country. And yet the folks who would rant and rave about gun control would defend to their last breath adequate controls to effectively preclude either death by hospital, or death by rogue vehicle.

Yes, what happened was horrific. As was what happened in the Pulse nightclub. The San Bernadino office, the recruiting office in Chattanooga..or a small church in S Carolina. It's awful. It's tragic. The really tragic part though, is the willingness of a large segment in our population to actively attempt to undermine our constitutional rights for their own sense of comfort. I'd assert that it makes me much more uncomfortable to plan a hospital stay, as many in the profession are much more worried about this than they are their own hygiene. And are much more likely to kill me through their own personal indifference than not. It makes them ignorant, and dangerous.

gdawg and others are easily destroying the far right craziness.

    Outlaw certain types of guns.

Punish those who try to buy, own, possess, sell, or distribute such guns.

Those type of freaks who do things like LV will be out many times before they do heinous things and sent to jail to think about their evi.

Yeah, and dems will keep losing elections as they try to USE a massacre to win votes. That's what this is about, nothing more.

YOU are the one that keeps doing the same thing over and over expecting a different outcome.

If Americans are concerned about these issues they should get the government out of these areas. Trump may be obnoxious but he's not substantively different than any other politicians.

Exactly so. Trump isn't as well trained in weasel words and dodging questions as professional politicians but he is otherwise, substantively the same.

He's stupid and vulgar and he 's a GD bully.. You think intelligence and being well-spoken is "weasel words"? Trump is ostentatious and low class.

The problem with this type of studyis that it can only determine that a cell phone was used around the time of the accident. How many of those used their cell phones after the accident occurred. There is no legal way to tell. As a father of five, kids are just as much if not more of a distraction than cell phones, do we ban kids from cars?

Sure we can ban kids from riding in cars...You just have to pay Mother/Fathers too stay home and watch the kids until they are old enough to go to school.

Just what this country needs another entitlement program. BTW, you have too convince the feminist that they have to stay home and play house...good luck with that.
