    No kidding.

The way that Trumpies defend the behavior of the RAGING ORANGE IMBECILE is beyond comical.

Trump's golf trips cost untold millions, but his supporters are making him a saint b/c he "donated" $549k.

You couldn't make this stuff up.

Excellent point and why we have charitable deductions...to encourage people to donate.

He did. He replaced Obama's machine and paid for it out of pocket.

It’s funny watching Dems who fell in line behind Obama complain about the president playing golf.

    Very poor attempt at spin.

Putting Trump's entourage up at your expense in Trump's hotels puts all the money he donated right back in his pocket. (and spare us the BS about how his sons are "running" the Trump Organization. The profits go to Trump by contract.

No, it isn't "practical to expect the President to spend tens or hundreds of millions of dollars to use the security he is by law required to use."

But that's irrelvant, and you know it.

No previous President has travelled to his own property and billed the government twice the market rate for the privilege.

Making a show of "donating" his salary is a gimmick for the right wing talk radio crowd.

Of course, you served it up for us on the very day that Trump suffers his biggest political defeat.

Let's see $87M spent on golf minus $549K donated equals $86.4M. So Trump frittered away 86.4 million on golf and his supporters are celebrating the comparatively tiny amount donated.

They also forget that his last charity was a complete scam so maybe they shouldn't bring this type of thing up.

    Great analysis.

The way that Trumpies bend over backwards to justify anything that this Orange POS does is literally unbelievable.

dude, you are so far off base it's sad. Why in the hell would donating his salary have to be justified?

This board is getting to be TOO partisan for normal people...

Well the pickings are very slim. Any day he doesn't walk up an airplane stairway trailing toilet paper and comb-overs is a reason to celebrate.

Any day that the MORBIDLY OBESE MENTALLY-DERANGED ORANGE POS is able to tie his own shoes is good for about 20 Adoring Threads from the MAGA Crowd.

Trump is a Lifetime Grifter who has bilked American Taxpayers out of Untold Millions.
(And his apologists are giving him a medal for donating $549k?:smfh:.)

    Donald Trump?:roflol:

That's why he is donating it, it's not out of the goodness of his heart.

Ha everyone knows Obama and Clinton for that matter got RICH because they were President. They were both broke coming in. Dems somehow always get rich on $180,000 or whatever salaries, it's quite amazing.

I guess the same could be said for anyone that donates. Although, I don't think that's true...I think people donate to donate...the Federal Govt through the tax system certainly likes to encourage it....which I think is a good thing.

It's also no surprise you think that way...considering how little libs give to charity in comparison to people that ID themselves as conservative.

Every president can (and does) use the celebrity status of the presidency to get rich. No big deal.

What differentiates Trump is that he uses the presidency to shovel taxpayer money (and his own campaign with donors' dollars) into his own pocket. Obama, Clinton, Bush etc. didn't do that.

Just to repeat for clarity, Trump isn’t donating anything so there wouldn’t be any tax benefits there. Trump’s Presidential pay is $1 a year (the minimum permitted) and that is where he’ll likely benefit on taxes (due to the complicated ways the very wealthy manage their money meaning receiving any income would end up costing him more in overall tax).

The “donations” aren’t about Trump being paid and then donating the money, it is just money being shifted from one government budget to another to the amount that could have been paid to the US President. That part is entirely for show.

You have anything to support that? If you are suggesting he is getting rich through the Trump Organization that's just not true, the business has lost millions since he took office...largely due to him taking office.
