MAGA is a slogan, not a policy position. If Trump had actual policy positions we could have something to debate, but this......it's like watching a Jim Jones revival!

The character of our leaders is just as important as any policy ideology, even more so since it is a measure of logic, reasoning, vision and resilience. These are clearly lacking in Trump. I can only assume his followers either lack that same degree of character, or as has been posted before, they just don't give a damn.

 

Attempting to throw your boss under the bus has never worked out well for anybody.

Whats the alternative? If Vindman testified honestly, then he believes Trump is a criminal. Are you suggesting Vindman should be trusted to carry out orders from someone he believes is a criminal?

I can understand why the haters wanted trump to keep a rat but I can also understand why any president would not want a rat to work for him. Thing is the haters cannot understand why any president would get rid of a rat . So the haters have cognitive dissonance. Like most village idiots.

 

Some of my best friends are/were soldiers. Being a soldier counts for nothing outside of their performance of their official duty as soldiers. A soldier I respect as much as anyone I know taught me that.

Having been a "soldier" for 28 years I can tell you, with total certainty, that being a soldier doesn't make one immune form being a **** bag. It also doesn't make them immune form being chastised or relieved when they screw up. He is there at the leisure of the president. He leaked. I have seen soldiers justifiably relieved of their post for less.

 

And military personnel know, and respect, that chain of command is the hallmark of military structure. It's the first thing you are taught. Yet Vindman tried to elevate himself by deciding his opinions were more important than the structure that holds the military together.

Too bad so sad for him.

 

I, for one, would rather he not conspire against our system of government.

 

I was enlisted airman for twenty years. I know of no one who wouldn't have mocked Vindman for his "it's Lieutenant Colonel" bit.

That, for me, showed all that was necessary.
