The saddest part is the rampant misunderstanding of nation. Around 1700 there were over a half a hundred German states and principalities. Would Goober tell me only one of them was German? No they were all Germans. We were all American before the civil war

    - - - Updated - - -

Well he believed that slavery was wrong because it robbed a man of the fruits of his own labor. What Republicans care about men reaping the fruits of their own labor? Oh wait...

what's funny is how you didn't watch the video, powell explained his gop credentials

i guess i have to spoon feed you, since you seem to be afraid to face the truth of the matter

"I became a Republican officially in 1995 after I decided not to run. And I have voted previously seven straight times for Republican candidates. I've spoken at the 1996 convention, the 2000 convention. I worked for Reagan. I worked for Weinberger. I worked for Nixon as a White House fellow. So I think my credentials are fine."

since when do democrats speak at gop national conventions?

now, here's a fellow who's gop leadership credentials are unimpeachable:

Paul Michael Weyrich was an American religious conservative political activist and commentator, most notable as a figurehead of the New Right. He co-founded the conservative think tanks, the Heritage Foundation, the Free Congress Foundation, and the American Legislative Exchange Council (ALEC).

"I don't want everybody to vote. Elections are not won by a majority of the people. They never have been from the beginning of our country and they are not now. As a matter of fact, our leverage in the elections quite candidly goes up as the voting populace goes down."

Powell has been a lib all along. Riding the coattails of the GOP was more productive for him. Anyone who voted for Obama is pathetic!

I'm a positive thinker. We would all be better off if Santorum had gotten the nomination. Perhaps we wouldn't have the scumbucket liar we have now!

Powell might have appeared to be a moderate in some areas, but he has always been primarily a liberal.

i see that you're still clinging to delusions

he's a republican and he wants the gop to attract voters with good ideas

instead of finding ways to restrict voting

Saying he was speaking as a Republican, Powell warned that North Carolina’s new voting restrictions will hurt the Republican Party, punish minority voters and make it more difficult for North Carolinians to cast a vote.

“I want to see policies that encourage every American to vote, not make it more difficult to vote,” Powell told an audience of 430 at Raleigh’s North Ridge Country Club.

“It immediately turns off a voting bloc the Republican Party needs,” Powell continued in his keynote speech. “These kinds of actions do not build on the base. It just turns people away.”

Minority voting increased NOT decreased since voter ID passed in the deep south.

Yes, due to gullible, low information voters combined with cover given by the MSM for the liar Obama! Sad way to win! I will say the republican candidates could have been stronger, but the aforementioned primarily prevailed.

    have you already forgotten?

here's a great example of a low information voter:

"I think Obama's gonna lose in a landslide." Rush Limbaugh

...and won the 2010 and 2012 House elections, and will three-peat while possibly, but not likely picking up the Senate in the process. None of this changes that I have yet to see one of these voter laws that only apply to democrats.
