Apparently the selection has already come down one of four https://www.abc.net.au/news/2023-11...n-rover-names-shortlist-public-vote/103044826 The first two are from First Nation language and are very fitting, the third maybe a bit cringeworthy on the international stage but the fourth - well are we really going to pass that one up? I just fear this will end like the UK’s Boaty McBoatface vote that ended with the boat in question being renamed to end the embarrassment But the good news is we are entering the space race!
Why are we going to the moon again? Could this money be better spent? Barely anyone can afford to live in Sydney, maybe we should try and fix some of that before flying to some rock in the sky? Apparently we need to be careful when landing because the moon is covered in ancient songlines that once guided the aboriginals to and from their ancestral lands. The moon is a culturally sensitive celestial body.
Research always pays - eventually but it pays. The moon will be a stepping stone to the stars eventually so yeah! It is worthwhile
