    ..silent majority:

    Presidential elections since 1992:
    Dems won the popular vote 6-1 (1992, 1996, 2000, 2004, 2008, 2012, 2016)

    Senate elections since 1992:
    Dems have win the popular vote 8-5 (1992, 1994, 1996, 1998, 2000, 2002, 2004, 2006, 2008, 2010, 2012, 2014, 2016)

    House elections since 1992:
    Repubs have won the popular vote 8-5 (1992, 1994, 1996, 1998, 2000, 2002, 2004, 2006, 2008, 2010, 2012, 2014, 2016)

Dems have dominated the vote in presidential elections, and the parties have split Senate and House elections, with each party having an 8-5 win margin in one of the two chambers of Congress. So, what in all of this makes Republicans think that they represent a massive "silent majority", and that their policies reflect the will of "real America"?
