So let's say you're an armed guard in that WalMart where the 22 people were shot and you see the assassin walk in openly carrying his AR. You have to wait until he kills his first victims before you can stop him?
Many professional shooting ranges also have excellent weapons stores inside them, as part of the same overall business. We are fortunate here in Colorado to have a number of them, including Magnum Shooting Centers, located between Denver and Colorado Springs: https://www.magnumshootingcenter.com/our-offerings/retail/ .
As much as I am no fan of walmart or the walton family, it is important to support and praise a company when they step out and make a statement that falls in line with what you believe.
Why are you referring to this unfortunate child as a criminal? The manager can ask you to leave at anytime for any reason.
Depends. If he has the gun slung on his shoulder, you can just ask him to leave. If he is brandishing the gun (which legal open carry doesn't allow anyway), you can stop him. However, that's based on self defense, not trespassing.
I think when a company goes out on a limb and demonstrates their commitment to something, those who agree with that commitment should stand beside them.
And those who disagree should oppose them, and shop elsewhere. Since you think we should 'do something', how about cracking down on violent video games and movies that glorify violence?
I agree - if you oppose their views and actions, shop elsewhere. As I said, I've been boycotting Walmart for years as I didn't like their employment policies. But I have to give them props for this latest policy. As for cracking down on the video games and movies - that's a completely different discussion and I won't derail this thread. Not a gamer myself, I've never understood the appeal of the games and I'm squeamish when it comes to violence in movies.
No, but the justification used in the previous posting was that it was OK for a dog to kill a criminal, so what justification can be used if a dog kills a 22 day old child or the other 32 people they killed so far this year? https://www.dogsbite.org/dog-bite-statistics-fatalities-2019.php
It will take more than praise to replace the spending I used to do at Walmart. He'd better really be supporting them. I used to spend about $6k-7k/year there. I've even bought guns at Walmart. Now I shop exclusively at local gun stores or Academy.
