In today's Jerusalem Post. https://www.jpost.com/Middle-East/UN-Human-Rights-Council-opens-34th-session-in-Geneva-583799 UN Commission on the Gaza border protests (aka Great March of Return) has created a file of Israelis who it holds culpable of killing peaceful Palestinians. This could go to the International Criminal Court (ICC). The commission also called for financial sanctions and an arms embargo against Israel. "We found reasonable grounds to believe that Israeli security forces committed serious violations of human rights and international humanitarian law. These violations clearly warrant criminal investigation and prosecution,” commission chairman Santiago Canton of Argentina said. So far, so good. But last week Gaza fired missiles at civilians in Tel Aviv. This was not in self defense - nor was it discussed at the council. Last week Hamas was reported torturing, imprisoning or gunning down dissidents to its rule. This wasn't discussed either. In fact most of what goes on in the world doesn't get a mention in the UN. It was reported that another Russian dissident was murdered in England (silence even on this forum.) Another Chechnya human rights activist was sent to the Gulags. Mob violence and murder rage across India. China arrested another 13,000 Muslims to put into concentration camps. Sudan is witness to gruesome conflict. Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan are at it again. Ukraine still suffers from Russian back separatists with 13,000 dead. But what does this have to do with tiny Israel? Nothing. So why mention it?
I’m tired of hearing about this age old conflict, and there’s only one way to settle it. Arab vs Jew DANCE OFF!!!!!! Don’t have a dog in this fight, but I think the Arabs win.
The ICC is a kangaroo court and the Israelis should use any force necessary against ICC kidnapping attempts.
https://www.ohchr.org/en/hrbodies/hrc/pages/membership.aspx ...South Africa is on the Human Rights Council membership list looks like a joke ito human rights... the worst offenders you could possible put together in one room... absurd
from this https://www.independent.co.uk/news/...ina-venezuela-abusers-violators-a7958271.html It was reported to OHCHR that these people had been abducted, detained, held incommunicado, or had disappeared, according to Andrew Gilmour, the Assistant Secretary-General for Human Rights. Other victims lost their jobs, had their homes or offices raided, were targeted by travel bans and asset freezes, as well as being forced to undergo unwanted psychiatric “treatment.” Many cases involved arbitrary detention and torture, sometimes by sexual assault or rape. Nine of the 29 countries listed are actually members of the Human Rights Council, a Geneva-based group made up of 47 UN member countries. These are Burundi, Egypt, Rwanda, Cuba, Venezuela, China, India, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates.
Other nations would be very wealthy if they just took the time they spend on Israel and use it to improve themselves.
pfft... many of the government employees from these nations are emptying state coffers, leaving their countrymen heavily indebted and impoverished while they sit around eating caviar and point fingers at Israel to distract from their theft.
Funny how forum right wingers want an invasion of or intervention in Venezuela to address injustices but say no such thing about Israel.
Omar is Muslim, Ostrovsky and Beit-Hallahmi are both Jewish Israelis. Too bad that you are so afraid of the truth but as a right winger, that is to be expected.
Nope. Not a single pair of boots on the ground, not a single American life wasted. Maduro is the leader Venezuela deserves. Long may he rule.
