Actually I was riveted to that trial. I wondered how it would turn out after the defense ripped the cops to pieces when OJ Simpson got away with murder.
Again, if you're not in real good shape and somebody beats you up and then you die, they get off because you didn't have a black belt to fend them off? There is a reason why we have a form of first-degree murder called Felony Murder.
I’m not the one making totaling unsubstantiated fact-less statements contrary to the evidence presented at the trial.
Say the drug laden person in the cop car was white and the cop was black. My hunch is you support the black cop in that case.
What teed you off is I brought back up the guilt of OJ Simpson who murdered his wife and got away with it.
yep, murder is a crime, even for those wearing a badge... and yes, sadly only if the politics are right
Yeah, the problem with that is Chauvin wasn't really committing an intentional felony in the process when the dude died. While it was a mistake, it wasn't one that was totally unreasonable. It was even somewhat understandable why he may have done it, given the situation. Making a mistake like that should not be seen as a felony that is applicable to the type of felony in the felony murder rationale. And yes, while he may have been committing that mistake for 9 minutes, to be fair we can't be completely sure whether the first 2 minutes killed him, or the additional 7 minutes after that, can we? If it was the first 2 minutes, then it was a result of a mistaken decision that had to be made suddenly within the heat of the moment.
the jury found him guilty of murder did they not? as long as a cop doesn't spend over 9 min slowly killing someone, they very rarely if ever get charged with murder
Don't. It does not make my opinions any more valid than yours or anyone else's I just debate hard. Thanks M.
I support you on the above of course. Am I wrong Buri would you in a similiar situation have turned him to his side after he said he could not breath? Would have not eased up? I am only asking about you. I do not ask for you to second guess Chauvin. Not fair. Just you. Am I wrong you would have eased up or asked another officer to help you turn him on his side?
You believe that? The training he got warned him not to use this technique unless it was for a specific situation and what to guard for. His own training from his own manual and the fact he was a training officer means he had a clue with due respect. You forget this guy trained young officers. Anything to do with the neck is dangerous. Please don't act like he did not know. Something was off that day with Chauvin.
I don't care what Chauvin claims, or you. I only care what the evidence proved. It proved a light weight cop put his knee on the one under arrest. The cop moved his knee very often. And his knee was not on the arteries. It is my belief he died due to his own actions due to heart disease. Ahead of being on the street, Floyd said over and over, "I can't breathe" Ahead of Floyd being involved. The cops had a hard struggle and did not take his word. If cops were doctors, it is not likely this could happen again.
