Look, if you don't know how it works, just say so. It's ok that you're simply throwing words around without knowing how they work

    So what?

    He studied behavior not neurology.

    How What works?

Subconcious describes a concept. You do not have to be a neurologist to understand the concept.

He said subconscious without ever demonstrating that the activity was subconsciously mediated

    its not a conscious behavior.

Behaviors have defined neural pathways that mediate the path between environmental stimuli and action.
He didn't know them, and didn't know what was happening. Either do you. You didn't even know that this was not operant conditioning

How do you know? What centers in the brain control it?

Pavlov? No, I know he was the discoverer of classical conditioning and not operant conditioning. He wasn't a neurologist or a physicist or any other form of academic besides a psychologist. He studied behavior not biology.

It is a reflex that can only be triggered by stimuli.

    What difference does that make?

And had no idea how behaviors were conducted within the nervous system.
He had no idea whether conscious or subconscious brain activity was creating signals to salivate

So? He wasn't a neurologist, I conceded that point repeatedly.
Well If it was a conscious behavior his experiments would have proven nothing. Because the dogs could have just salivated whenever they wanted to regardless of stimuli.

Reflex actions take place without signals reaching the brain. Can you show the pathway from auditory input to salivation, demonstrating that this is so?

So I could cut your head off and you'd still jump if I startled you?

    Not talking about neurology.

So a reflex at the presence of stimuli. Thanks for finally agreeng.

I didn't say reflex, you did. The stimuli is processed in the cerebrum. Reflex reactions take place without processing in the cerebrum.
Therefore this is not reflex. It is a reaction to the dog thinking ( conscious ) that food is about to be given.

without connection to the brain, the body would have no neural signals to react.
You could however inflict a painful stimulus to the body and it would move.

of course you're not, you don't understand how signals get from the ears to the salivary glands.

Thinking food is about to be given is conscious that I agree with. Salivating isn't.

You made a claim. That claim was directly refuted by evidence in the citation i gave you.

    Here you go.......https://www.simplypsychology.org/unconscious-mind.html

I’m sure you will not read this either, as it refuted yiur claim about the subconscious.

That behaviors aren’t subconscious. And read the article.

    This part especially......

It is triggered by thinking about food. Pavlov conditioned the dogs to think about food at the sound of the bell.
Neural output to the salivary glands has not been altered. The conscious association of a bell with food has been learned and the neural processes that trigger salivation remain the same.

What was my claim, and what part of these two sentences has refuted it ?
Can you demonstrate that salivation is not triggered by the dogs conscious perception that it is about to be fed ?
Can you demonstrate a neural pathway from the auditory brainstem to salivary glands that does not involve thinking about feeding, conscious activity ?
Please feel free to do so, since you know so very much about the subject.
