    My uncle defended himself...he was attacked by a guy waving a metal pipe, who turned out to have been cranked out on PCP. He took an entire magazine of .380's (including shots through both lungs and one dead-center in the sternum), not going down until the last shot (aimed at his nose) caught him in the throat and severed his carotid artery. He bought a .44 Magnum (the S&W Model 29 I now own) the next day.

    She didn't shoot (like many cases of armed citizens confronting criminals), but my wife's best friend (a nurse) walked in on two orderlies stealing painkillers. They were big, burly guys, Tina is 4'5" and 80lbs. They were pretty confident they could deal with her...right until she drew and cocked on them. Even an 80lb woman is a threat when you are looking down the barrel of her Chiefs Special.

    I personally would not go below a 4" barrel. The 3"s have more trouble with reliability because of the spring pressures. I have also found that the barrel length is not a problem for conceal carry as much as the grip. I have big hands so like the full sized grip but would love to have the bobbed grip. The aluminum framed models cut down on a lot of weight.

    Do lefties really think that if all guns were confiscated that criminals would not have guns or some other weapon and that the rest of us would be at their mercy? Look at chicago, new york, philadelphia, baltimore, Hyattsville Md and coastal area of virginia. And do you REALLY think that many americans are going to roll over and turn in their guns ? No bloodshed? no deaths? And look what the brits and the scandinavians go thru now...you got muslims doing as they please because they KNOW you have No weapons. And it could and would happen here.

    Its one thing I don't understand about my lefty buddies.

    They will claim that gun control works, then turn around and say "well, the drug war has failed!".

    An obvious irony.

    What's incredible is Euro-trash lecturing the US. You come from some of the most blood soaked land on the planet, we need only look at history books to prove it. A few decades of self-righteousness won't erase your past, and the future you are destined to, more bloodletting.
