what ever device you used to post this consumed energy, and your breath billows 48,000 PPM CO2. Thanks for your contribution.

you quoted me saying harm after I made the comment "The poor plant life on our planet has been starving" in regards to low co2 levels.. so now your changing the argument again?

well can you point to any increase in severe weather? or any prediction that has come to pass?
and increasing temperature is good for life on this planet, its easy to see.. where is there more life.. on the snow covered poles or the nice warm equator? when do plants grow and thrive? dead of winter or spring and summer?

the problem with the AGW crowd is that all you have is computer models (that have been 100% inaccurate) and more failed predictions.. the "deniers" have common sense and historical data that blows holes in the doomsday theory

    Sure...that's all we got.

Well...that and EVERY recognized group of national or international scientist. Let me know when you can find a recgonized group that maintains a dissenting opinion.

Is that true? Would you have a link to support it?
(its the non-carbon plant life requirements that I am thinking of: nutrient supply)

We can hope plants will fix more CO2, but plants are far from keeping up with the CO2 supply and I see no reason to suggest that will change.

Also, more CO2 didn't (and can't) help mitigate the agricultural disaster that pushed Syria over the edge or the agricultural problems in CA's central valley last year, or the agricultural issues in Bangladesh or places in South America - more CO2 doesn't solve water shortage.

And, every measure we take concerning earth's temperature change, total CO2, etc., already includes the additional fixation of CO2 by plants. So, plants are great, but they aren't solving the problem.

Well there you go. Can't change a thing. We all can relax and stop blaming humans. There are far more plants on Earth than humans.

Theory has it we will run out of crude oil in early 2100 so why not burn it faster and get it all over with?

That will fix it for those frightened of more decent weather.

Well, if you were a plant, you're probably right.

But, my guess is that you are a human.

And, we KNOW that humans can make a difference.

We've made important changes in global atmospheric composition before.

I am not so arrogant that I believe what I do matters. Why?

The way I live my life, the numbers would be dropping is why.

that's the warmer way. they measure the change in energy in the ocean in billions of joules too. the actual warming part of global warming is so minuscule that they have to use different numbers.

You're actually stating that what you do DOES matter - that by living the way you do you are assuring less damage (perhaps improvement, in fact).

In addition, there IS human activity that is in the realm of public discretion - that is, we can decide as a civilization whether we accept that activity.

And, how we make those decisions DOES matter - as we know to be true, because we have massive experience in that.

So, you can also make a difference by contributing to those decisions in a smart way.

The catch is we're talking about the balance between the absolute cold of outer space and the heat arriving from the sun.

Maintaining that balance IS a delicate matter - small changes can push our environment outside the comfortable bounds that make a huge difference in our lives.

its not the scientists that are driving the dooms day narrative..
here is what a real climate scientist has to say on the matter..

A youtube video to tell me what a real climate scientist says? Oh joy.

Ok, so I watched the video. And I know Mr. Lindzen and his work pretty well. The man should be respected as someone who is well versed on these issues and his reasons for not worrying about the future of climate change are well justified.

However, he is wrong in some of his assertions. He claims that climatologists are not predicting catastrophic results as a potential impact of climate change, but that is inaccurate.

I read the book the Deep Hot Biosphere and it asserts crude is being constantly produced. There are still vast oil fields not yet tapped that they know a lot about. Such as that field off the coast of Argentina close to the islands they invaded when Thatcher beat them off.

A 100 year old quote used to prove that scientists today are wrong? Solid logic there.

Predominantly I'm referring to how all of these initiatives and pieces of legislation have the outcome of taking money from energy companies and/or tax payers and moving funds to green tech companies, "scientific studies", the UN, the 3rd world, and others.

The Left speaks of AGW, but when it comes right down to it their "fix" is just another tax.
