And you have no idea what the passengers said to irritate or offend the driver. Without his side of the story, you hang him.

Where did I hang him? I wish in Trumps case more on your side fully came to grips with Trump's stories.

And again, just like the conservative rightly argue on the cake baking incidence - the Uber riders were free to find another driver that would serve them.
Don't get why conservatives are freaking out, when it's just a guy making a decision that was backed by the Supreme Court decision on the cake baking decision.

The ridesharing company Uber says it is investigating a case in which young Republicans were abandoned at a gas station and told, “Welcome to the resistance.”

Chris Godbey, executive director of the Young Republicans National Federation, and his peers said they were abruptly told to exit an Uber driver’s car over the weekend after an event near Raleigh, North Carolina. The reason: an anti-Trump “resistance” driver wanted to deliver a message.

“About halfway through the trip our driver said he needed to stop and get gas,” said Mary Russell, a federation volunteer, the Daily Caller reported Monday. “Then he quickly turned off and stopped the car and said, ‘your ride has been terminated and you’ve reached your destination — and I have the right to deny you service. And so, we were all shocked. … And then he drove off and said, ‘welcome to the resistance.'”

The pair said the incident happened Saturday at about 10 p.m. EST. They claim their rhetoric, although political, wasn’t incendiary or controversial.

“I was a little dumbfounded by the reaction [the driver] had,” Mr. Godbey said. “The reason why we were sitting in this gas station now, unsure of where we were, and quite frankly not really that safe because we were just at a random gas station off the interstate, was something that I was immediately worried about.

Then why is Uber looking into this? If Uber allows this they will lose half their clients.

Not once he picked them up, but please continue with the cognitive dissonance, at least it is entertaining.

Also, this is similar to the baker but it's not exactly the same....this is more synonomous to the cashier at wal-mart refusing to serve you because you're wearing a MAGA hat.

And since when do company CEO's allow peons to make decisions that will affect them negatively...especially if it's not following their policy and procedure.

Well, in the case of the baker who refused to serve the gay couple, it was before services were begun. To make it equivalent to what the Uber Driver did, the baker would have taken the order, and then only made half of the cake.

On the weekend? Getting from Calistoga to Oakland on the ground is pure traffic hell. Throwing up in a plane might be preferable.

The baker did not refuse service.

He offered to sell them any cake he had in the store.

What he refused to do was decorate the cake in a special way for it to be used in a gay wedding.

Welp, politics aren't a protected class, but here's hoping Uber has the sense to ditch him anyway, if they haven't already.

I have to check my log to find out if it was during the week or a weekend. But you are correct that to drive from Calistoga down to Napa then take the roads to Oakland is sure slow. By airplane the trip was fast. It was the bank that caused him to puke his guts up. I banked a bit sharply and he had a weak stomach. He had no problems when I landed at Calistoga early in the day.

I don't know whose side you're on in our mindless tribal wars, but the reality is that both of these jokers--the Uber driver and the baker--could give it the hell a rest.

Would you make a Muslim put bacon on a cake?

I lived in Napa part of the year from the early 1980s for three decades. It was nice for many years, then Highway 29 and then Silverado Trail turned into traffic hell on the weekends. I finally got sick of the crowd and moved north.
Indeed. Exquisitely so. A nice view, too.
    Passenger's Revenge. :)

There are some people who look a little strange on a gentle turn in a commercial aircraft.

No, but anyone who wouldn't serve a gay customer by putting "Mike loves Fred!" on a cake or give a ride to a young Republican wouldn't work for me.

My pilots brief case is missing my log book. I know this flight was around 1980 or 81.

This young lad clearly is all grown up today.

He might be within his rights, but I think he treated the gay couple badly. I would quietly take my business to another bakery.

Oh so you don't mind admitting you have a bigoted opinion of Christians then.

Tell me, what's the difference between forcing a Muslim baker to decorate a cake with bacon, and forcing a Christian baker to dress up the cake with two grooms?

    Let's make it even better!

Would you force a Muslim to decorate a cake for a homosexual couple? Bacon optional in this scenario.

Do you mean you live in CA to the north of Napa Valley? If you do, what part of CA are you living in?

I believe homosexuals take their bar business to homosexual bars. I accept that from time to time they may drink in a non homosexual bar, but pick ups are easier at the homosexual bars. So take the bakery business to a homosexual run bakery.

Damn, but 1980 is a long time ago. I really liked Napa back then.
