I know there are victims and most are children , I would never advocate allowing children to go hungry. That is NOT what this is about . It is the excess , the cell phones, the demands to move into middleclass neighborhoods, the endless child bearing to increase aid . The sex offenders to lazy to work . The 300 pound couch potato at 35 years old , etc.

I don't dislike welfare because it's a bad use of taxed funds, I dislike it because it's a use of taxed funds; therefore, I cannot support providing funds or services to anyone, even those who need a gentle push-up.

Boy? You are one of them racists aintcha?

My city won't cut off electricity if they know there is a medical appliance in the house that requires it like oxygen concentrating equipment. They used to do that by looking at the No Smoking--oxygen in use sign on the door, but now they can do it remotely with smart meters so you would have to call the 24/7 line to get it back on as people do not come out for that.

It is theoretically possible that someone could have bought that Benz and those chains prior to experiencing the bad luck that put them on SNAP like a job loss, though that probably is less often the case.

I grow quite a bit of my own food, so Let the Revolution and downfall of civilization begin. Maybe then I can finally put in the well for irrigation that I am battling my city over. It is perfectly legal under the code as long as it is not for human consumption, yet they are fighting me because they want me to have to pay their overpriced sewage bill that is based on non-existent meters that they keep trying to tell gullible people that do exist rather than tell them the truth that they just prorate the sewage expense based on water consumption instead of sewage output.

I really apologize for the boy remark and I never intended to put you down in any way . If my views about freeloading the system seem racist that ok too . I'm ok with helping the poor get back on their feet but not with 2nd , 3rd , and fourth generation welfare . I'm not ok with the two , three , and four baby daddies that are "unknown" to the mom . I have seen the overflowing shopping carts headed to the Benz and that "unknown " daddy with the gold teeth and gold chains . I have seen benefit cards sold to other for half the cost , so they can use the money for beer , cigs , and drugs . There are those that self respect and try to find jobs , there are plenty of thing that you can do to help YOURSELF !

I was kidding because racism is so overused. I am cracker white LOL. Sure there is a lot of fraud. Couldn't tell you how many times I have been approached in stores by a stranger wanting me to put my stuff on their EBT and then giving them the cash because of some variation of they needed gas or their car was allegedly broken down. Even had one old gal offer to give me the Monica and when I said I had no cash as a polite way of saying beat it, she said my food stamp card would work. Not sure which offended me more--that she thought I was so hard up that paying for her ancient self was the best I could do or that I looked like I was on food stamps LOL.

So you are that creepy azz cracker I heard about LMAO . But I do my part with children's charities and always feel bad that they go without because parents are complacent and have no sense of urgency . The libs are the enablers that perpetuates the cycle and do untold harm to those they claim to defend .

Statist democrats perhaps. There are others on the left who are not so entrenched in the black messiah's butt cheeks.

It happened so it is what it is. Life isn't fair and if people accept it and work to better themselves they'll get out of poverty eventually. I did it with no parental guidance other than a father who used to beat my a** when I messed up.

It's amazing, every person I know who came from extreme poverty has been successful by this reasoning.

Any of them who feel sorry for themselves and do nothing but ask "was what happened to me fair?" They're not doing so well....

Congrats by the way on your success

There failure to make the right choices in life results in over 70% of two parent families both have to work to provide for their children . That was unheard of in the 50's.
80% of the single wage earners have to work overtime to meet their NEEDS. I'm tired of taxes , fees , surcharges , "change" , and all the other crap they invent .
They visit their problems on us and some wonder why we care . I'll take care of mine , they need to step up and take care of theirs .

that's a choice... living outside their means.

as my new wife and I are planning out the future, buying a house is one of the things on the todo list this coming up year. We could both afford around a 300k house together. But what happens if one of us is out of a job in a year.... (we're both annual contracted teachers in a state that does not have tenure)

So instead of stretching ourselves thin and buying a 300k house, which would be VERY nice based on the cost of living in our area (think, waterfront, 2500 sq feet, pool, in a great neighborhood) we are going to find a dated house that needs some work, 1600-2000 square feet house with a green pool in the backyard for around 150k. We can fix up, and if the crap hits the fan one future august, and one of us can't find a job teaching, we don't lose our house because we both have to be working to afford. So if she is out of work, we tighten our belts, and either one of us can afford to make the payments. Even if worst case scenario happens, and both are out of professional work, we could make ends meet with 2 10$/hour jobs easily.... well, it would be tight.... but we could manage

now, if your max potential income is only at $10/hour.... you can afford a 150k house around my area.... but you'd be maxed out. by a 75k house that you can afford on just one salary. They exist too. They aren't flashy, they are small, probably built in the 50s, but just because you want a house like I have.... doesn't mean you are entitled to it. you can make it work....

our favorite saying in the house is - "make better choices" This applies to children's behavior, our classroom behavior management style, all the way to our economic choices.

Why is the concept of making better choices so dam foreign to most ? So many enablers blind to the harm they cause !
