We're Protecting Ukraine's Borders, But Not Ours

The GOP's Putin faction, by their ass-dragging, may have handed the little Rooskie degenerate a victory.

Senate Republican Leader Mitch McConnell (Ky.) on Tuesday said the months-long delay in sending military aid to Ukraine has undermined its chances of defeating Russia on the battlefield and was premised on what he called the “sheer fiction” perpetuated by some colleagues that supporting Ukraine is not a vital national security interest.

“So much of the hesitation and short-sightedness that has delayed this moment is premised on sheer fiction. And I take no pleasure in rebutting misguided fantasies,” McConnell said in a floor speech responding to colleagues in both chambers who have dragged out consideration of military aid for Ukraine since President Biden requested it in October.

... McConnell on Tuesday reiterated his argument that the $95 billion foreign aid package will bolster U.S. arms production as well as the domestic economy...

“American prosperity and security are the products of decades of American leadership,” he said.

The bill has since passed the Democrat-led Senate and was signed by President Joe Biden.'

They chose The Swamp over their Electorate.

How can a Republican-led House prioritize the borders of another country over our own border, even as American citizens are killed by illegal immigrants? How can so-called fiscally responsible Republicans sign off on what is now $174 billion in direct Ukraine aid with a national debt of $34 trillion, more than $250,000 for every American household? And how can House Speaker Mike Johnson, who had pledged repeatedly that no foreign-aid legislation would advance without first securing the border, so quickly be steamrolled by the Establishment?'

All great questions, and I don't know the answers. And frankly, does it matter why the GOP leadership did this, or is the important thing, that they did?

 

The Uniparty vs America.

'According to recent polling that The Heritage Foundation conducted with RMG Research, an overwhelming three out of four swing voters opposed sending any additional aid to Ukraine without also allocating funds for our own border. A majority (56 percent) of swing voters in key battleground states thought that the $113 billion the United States had already committed to Ukraine was too much.'

All the House GOP had to do, was hold firm and force the Democrats to reject Ukraine aid because it included US border security.

First we need to win the Congressional elections in 2024 and then we need to clean out the current leadership and replace them with younger members with longer time horizons.

The Republicans that screwed us have an average age of 66.
The Republicans that stood with us, have an average age of 59.
It's time for fresh leadership.

It does seem the democrats all vote on bills as a block while the republicans always split on the vote.

 

Is that feigned ignorance or are you really not aware Lankford's knowledge about the bill comes from being one of the Repub senators who negotiated the compromise deal? So..........not a member of the border patrol.

 

The opposite is typically true.

 

The Senate tried to give the Border Security more support using a bipartisan created bill worth more than triple that. Voted down near unanimously by Republicans after T**** told them to. Puss**s or hypocrites? Seems to me your anger should be aimed squarely at them/him. Shoot, Mitch was an author of the bill and voted no. Sad.
