My comment about the 25 billion was not my only point. Yet you are hanging your hat on that. The blow-hard was blowing hard on that wall, and that is my point whether there were funds or not.

Mexicans were supposed to pay for the wall. Then, when he had both houses of Congress, Republicans would not fund his wall. Now he is blaming the absence his wall on Democrats. Very weak to say the least.

    What happened to the GOP?

It has always been the party of big money and big business. It fought the New Deal when Dems were trying to clean up the Depression mess. It fought labor tooth and nail...and began winning in that regard under Reagan.

There have been racists elements and undertones as far back as the 60s...and who can forget the infamous "Willie Horton" ads that Bush the Greater used...

Things really started to go off the rails at the end of the Bush Admin when the failure of the GOP became so achingly apparent. Unfortunately the response was Stupid Sarah Palin and things have gotten worse since then.

The crazies have COMPLETELY taken over

Yes but this is not something that turned the tide of the election in any significant way - women get elected on a regular basis in this nation and she got a whole lot more votes than she deserved.

It is not because Hillary is Female that she was a bad candidate - she was just a really bad candidate. It is not because Hillary is Female that she was an Establishment insider in an anti Establishment election - it was because she is was an Establishment insider in an anti Establishment election. It was not because Hillary was female that the she and the DNC meddled with the electoral process with respect to Bernie. This is why a whole bunch of the Blue anti establishment crowd did not show up - not because Hillary was Female.

Whatever floats your boat. Dems are race baiters and hope to gain power through racial politics. Republicans react accordingly.

Whatever you think should be the case, it obviously isn't. I am describing reality as I see it and your moral posturing changes none of the facts.

The Churches that are dying are The Episcopalians Pro gay everything. PC USA not only pro gay but have abandoned almost all other Biblical teachings into the Bargain. Catholic Convents are seeing an increase in new members for the first time in decades. Once people who grew up in the church get their first real taste of the world a lot suddenly start to search for a little stability in a world that increasingly seems to have gone mad. Conservative churches offer that and that import of at least nominally Roman Catholic Latinos may soon stand that demographic time bomb on it's head in time. Half the world is adrift in a sea of meaninglessness and emptiness sex drugs and rock and roll can only serve as a distraction from that sort of entropic existence.

And by the way even f the renewal I'm seeing in more conservative churches is but a chimera the fact remains conservative Christians are still the single biggest voting block in America. And more than half of Reagan voters identified as conservative Christians.

Yes the alliance between Cheap labor Republicans and Democratic cheaters proved every bit as powerful as I feared.. Fortunately the former are mostly gone now and what's left will be after 2020. Maybe then we will finally have enough house republicans that give a damn about something other than than kissing K street's ass to restore this country to what it once was.

I wouldn't be too sure of that. Trump Campaign, RNC Raise More Than $100 Million In Second Quarter

With 98% of the donations being less than $200, on average $41.48 per donation. Tell me...how much money has been donated to Biden and how much of that is $200 or less?

Actually the GOP hasn't moved all that much. They are still in full support of immigrants...as long as they come here legally. They are, and always have been, against illegal immigrants. What many forget about Reagan is that while yes, he supported amnesty he ALSO supported securing our border and would not sign the amnesty bill unless there was provisions in it for strengthening our immigration laws and securing the border. Which btw is the same thing that Trump has been doing. He even supported giving Dreamers amnesty so long as his ideals on strengthening the border were met. Even Democrats supported building walls...until Trump came along that is...

Don't fall for the "progressive" lefts lies. The Republican party is still essentially the same. The left however has moved FAR left. In Reagans time the only people that supported socialism was considered wacko's. Yet here we are today, with people like AOC who is a declared socialist who the leftist media supports so much I have yet to see them chastise her for anything that she has said that was wrong...indeed both the leftist media and AOC just doubles down on what she says.

That is the thing about a freedom. People have the freedom to do what they like - regardless of whether or not the flop flopping, irrational xenophobic, genocidal God YHWH - a God which is depicted with the most petty and nasty of human characteristics - is OK with it.

Are you comfortable shilling for theocracy ? I don't get it with you people .. I really don't .. what is with this overwhelming desire to control what consenting adults do with each other in the bedroom ? Do you want others telling you what to do in the bedroom - who you can marry and who you can't marry ? Then why are you wanting to do this to others ? Remember ... we discussed the rock on which Jesus based his teachings previously .. the rule that sums up all the prophets and the Law. The Golden Rule.

How can you profess to be a follower of Christ - when you do not understand one of his most fundamental teachings ? I am not trying to be nasty here - I really don't get it.

Regardless of the increase in convent applicants, regardless of the "renewal" in conservative Churches - the bare bones statistical fact is that in general -the younger demographic is for legalized abortion - at least in the early term - and does not like gay bashing.

As for Latino's - On a program I watched the other day a girl from Mexico who somehow managed to become a US citizen was being interviewed. Her parents and brother had been deported. Her Brother came here when he was 5 and never learned to speak Spanish.

That this gal, or any Latino who knows this gal or someone who has had a similar experience - is going to vote Red - is a stretch beyond a stretch. Forget that you profess to be follower of Christ and pretend you are an atheist. Please come up with a coherent justification for deporting someone who came here when they were 5 ?

The Republican Party is Trump's party.

“So interesting to see ‘Progressive’ Democrat Congresswomen, who originally came from countries whose governments are a complete and total catastrophe. Why don’t they go back and help fix the totally broken and crime infested places from which they came."

"If you are not happy, if you are complaining all the time, you can leave."

"These are people that in my opinion hate our country."

Those statements were made by the President of the United States, a man whose Constitutional duty is to unite the country, but he is bent on dividing the country with his racist and incendiary comments.

Trump proved his commitment to dividing our country today. “Well, let's put it this way,” Trump said in an interview with DailyMail.com “I’m not unhappy.” Translating the double negative, Trump said he was happy with the comments he made that started the swirling controversy.

Later, Trump confirmed his happiness with reporters. “I’m not relishing the fight, I’m enjoying it because I have to get the word out to the American people,” Trump said. The sentence doesn't make much sense because the English language has always been a challenge for Trump, but he said he was enjoying the divisiveness he caused with his racist comments.

When a man doubles down, then triples down, then quadruples down on racist statements he made, it has to dawn on even the most uninformed of us that the man is a racist.

Why is Trump doing this? The answer is obvious. Trump needs to mask his failures.

Trump has done nothing for the economy except threaten it with his harsh tariffs and trade wars. Fortunately, our robust economy is so strong it simply ignores Trump and marches on to greater successes.

Trump has done about our crumbling infrastructure despite his many promises.

Trump has done nothing about health care despite his many promises. “We’re going to have insurance for everybody. There was a philosophy in some circles that if you can’t pay for it, you don’t get it. That’s not going to happen with us.”

Instead of getting better with all his promises and threats, the illegal immigration problem has gotten worse on his watch.

"Next week ICE will begin the process of removing the millions of illegal aliens who have illicitly found their way into the United States," Trump said four weeks ago. The mass deportation arrests that were expected didn’t happen.

Belief in the imperial Presidency has caused Trump to challenge the powers of the other two co-equal branches. His foolish attempts have ended in failure and defeat in the courts.

The Iran problem is getting worse, a problem he created. Trump is hoping the Europeans can solve the problem. He is ignoring it.

Despite two summits and Chamberlain-like visit to North Korea, we are no closer to denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula than we were two years ago. North Korea has threatened to resume nuclear testing.

Trump was forced to back down on the citizenship question on the census, a fight he was fated to lose from the beginning.

Mueller is scheduled to testify before two House committees next week. The former special counsel will explain that Justice Department policy kept him from laying out federal criminal charges against a sitting President, and that it is now up to Congress to hold the President responsible? All of this will take place before a live television audience to be seen by millions. A.G. William Barr said it would be a political spectacle. He was right about that.

If you were Trump, wouldn't you want to change the subject? What better way than to make a complete fool of yourself by attacking four black female junior members of Congress and pretending they speak for the Democratic Party leadership and Presidential candidates? To divert attention from important matters to which he is failing miserably, making himself look like an idiot is a time-honored method for Trump.

Want proof of that statement? Check out his statements in the last four days. That is all he is talking about while his adoring admirers are cheering madly.

Seems to fit the facts and explains Trump's success.

And it should be "those race baiters" not "them race baiters."

The funny part is how those race baiters are attacking white Democrats now.

Putin doesn't even have to wind Trump up anymore. He's Putin's Energizer Bunny with a mission to shove wedges between Americans. Trump throws out one shiny object after another to his "base" (double meaning there) and the hatred grows like a magic beanstalk. Trump's love of despots are a bonus Putin hadn't counted on. He really should send Trump that love letter.
