CO2 concentration began increasing before 1900 just not at the same rate as it's doing today. But, yeah, I'd say a good chunk of that 1900-1940 warming is natural. Or at the very least the component break of natural vs anthroprogenic could not possibly be the same in 1900 as it was in 2000. I think this matches up reasonably well with the inertial delay. Maybe that's why we see the temperature pattern slowly move from a down-up pattern to a pause-up pattern. I don't know...I'm just thinking out loud right now.
Yes, it was. That's undeniable. But, I don't think that's unexpected. In the past when there wasn't humans to pump CO2 and it tended to stay in a natural equilibrium for longer and so it makes sense that another factor jump started the warming and CO2 tagged along for the ride. Of course, once warming activated a net positive change in the natural sources the feedback began.
Yet another strawman. No one denies that. Here's your current list. Let me know if I've missed one. There was more CO2 in the past. Experts agree. The Earth was warmer in the past. Experts agree. The climate changes. Experts agree. Climate change has been happening for 5 billion years. Experts agree. Me and my kids had nothing to do with climate change in the past. I agree. Glaciers receded rapidly after the last ice age. Experts agree. You own 3 SUVs, 2 cars, and boat. We'll take your word for it.
LOL when faced with facts you just babble about strawmen. Then change the direction to suit your needs, you are making up krap as you go. Sad but hysterical Way to go Alburt
I suppose the good thing is that we probably have done enough to prevent the NEXT ice age regardless of the natural changes in our orbit and axial tilt. It seems we are unlikely to enter another for about 100,000 years. https://www.newscientist.com/article/dn16026-humans-may-have-prevented-super-ice-age/
Interesting but what's not mentioned is how the melting of the ice caps may shut down the Atlantic Conveyor Belt resulting in an Ice Age. http://www.sciencemag.org/news/2016/06/crippled-atlantic-currents-triggered-ice-age-climate-change
Climate change is 5 billion years old, AGW is a hoax, so accept it The ice caps have been melting for 20,000 years, at a much higher rate than today
I also believe in clean air, clean water for all and blue skies full of birds, but I do not believe in climate change as described by idiots that do not know that the Earth has been warming for 20,000 years
There is no science behind lies...............just the morons who believe the lies. PS. I know more science than you could ever grasp, and I know that the Earth is warming and has been for 20,000 years, and your fake science can not change the truth. Try kid
LOL, there is zero evidence that the temps are warming more now then the temps that melted the glacier that 20,000 years ago covered half of the USA. Project that
Nice straw man argument. You know more science than I could ever grasp? Great. What field do you work in and for how long? You keep saying the Earth has been warming for 20,000 years is true, to an extent, but that's not the point. It's one thing to warm up a house. It's another to set it on fire. It's literally a matter of degrees. https://earthobservatory.nasa.gov/Features/CarbonCycle/page4.php In Earth’s past, the carbon cycle has changed in response to climate change. Variations in Earth’s orbit alter the amount of energy Earth receives from the Sun and leads to a cycle of ice ages and warm periods like Earth’s current climate. (See Milutin Milankovitch.) Ice ages developed when Northern Hemisphere summers cooled and ice built up on land, which in turn slowed the carbon cycle. Meanwhile, a number of factors including cooler temperatures and increased phytoplankton growth may have increased the amount of carbon the ocean took out of the atmosphere. The drop in atmospheric carbon caused additional cooling. Similarly, at the end of the last Ice Age, 10,000 years ago, carbon dioxide in the atmosphere rose dramatically as temperatures warmed. Shifts in Earth’s orbit are happening constantly, in predictable cycles. In about 30,000 years, Earth’s orbit will have changed enough to reduce sunlight in the Northern Hemisphere to the levels that led to the last ice age. Today, changes in the carbon cycle are happening because of people. We perturb the carbon cycle by burning fossil fuels and clearing land. When we clear forests, we remove a dense growth of plants that had stored carbon in wood, stems, and leaves—biomass. By removing a forest, we eliminate plants that would otherwise take carbon out of the atmosphere as they grow. We tend to replace the dense growth with crops or pasture, which store less carbon. We also expose soil that vents carbon from decayed plant matter into the atmosphere. Humans are currently emitting just under a billion tons of carbon into the atmosphere per year through land use changes.
Everyone should read the CIA assessment of the danger of ‘global cooling’ from 1974. Sounds the same as the current mass hysteria.
Sounds like fun. BTW, one concern about global warming is shutting down the ocean conveyor belt system which......wait for it.....would cause an ice age.
