Matthew 27:5 - "So Judas threw the money into the temple and left. Then he went away and hanged himself.”

Acts 1:18 - "With the reward he got for his wickedness, Judas bought a field; there he fell headlong, his body burst open and all his intestines spilled out.”

    Which account is correct?

Did he throw the money away? Or did he buy a field?

Did he hang himself? Or did he explode?

Easy. When Judas threw the money a man selling a field assumed Judas was buying it. The man then presented Judas with his newly purchased field and upon seeing it Judas was afraid God too would make the same mistake and in an attempt to run off the nearest cliff he tripped causing his body to explod and his intestines flung up around a tree branch and his neck hanging him.

Well of course everyone should know that neither are correct.... He purchased stock in the Microsoft company and became very wealthy.

    Actually both are correct.

He threw the money into the temple for the purchase of a field. In the middle of the field there was a great tree, where he decided to hang himself and while executing that decision, the rope broke and he fell to the ground and burst open.

According to the bible, he threw the money in the faces of the preists and hung himself.

Neither account is correct, because they were written around 60 years after it happened, by people who were not even there.

No one knows if Judas even killed himself. He may have lived. The writers just wanted to show him as some unredeemable traiter by making him into a suicidal coward.

Did you personally know "the writers"? No? Then you are being presumptuous at the greatest level. Further proof of your presumptuous nature is seen in your use of the absolute "No one" as in "No one knows". Those people who lived at the time of Judas and personally knew Judas would know his happenstance or circumstance.

It only means no witnesses are willing to witness for him, or actually no one cares. So the 2 accounts of witnessing are discrete which you may need to combine them to see what happened.

You don't usually fall and explode. You must fall from high to explode. And you need to hang in high in order to die. So he attempted to hang himself. Then later he fell on the ground and exploded. The first witness knew that he hanged himself while the second saw how he's on the ground exploded.

As for the money, he bought the piece of land but before he made the formal payment he regretted so he threw back the money and hanged himself where was informally his land.

Do you realize how much you are adding to the story in order to try to make it consistent? This is simply not reconcialable.

Try to do it. Each attempt requires additional material to the narrative to make it piece together, and as long as that is allowed "The House at Pooh Corner" and "Gone With the Wind" can be reconciled, too.

Well, if you look back at the postings, you will find that I did in fact do that very thing, and you did not complain about it when I committed such act... so why do you attack the same method when committed by someone else? Also, you might want to consider this: Just because someone reconciles something to meet with his/her preference toward a way of life or even a religious belief or non-belief, does not cause that reconciliation to be in error. To say that such an error does exist because you perceive that reconciliation to be in error, only opens the door for someone to say that any reconciliation that you make, can likewise be said to be in error. As for the 'house at pooh corner'... Well, hey.... some people do live in their own little worlds.... like it or leave it, it is their world and in that world they are free to do as they please...

Just as wrong when you did it, but I had to go to work. Sorry I missed your adaptation of the story.

He bought the field then he exploded.

I thought this was common knowledge? :tp:
