Apparently you aren’t aware how state and local govts get money. It’s via taxes...sales taxes, real estate taxes etc. without the businesses they lose money

 

Minnesota leadership is not only non-existent, it is negligent and they should be removed from their positions. It's a disgrace to see these liberal states and cities allow ANTIFA and other racist and domestic terrorist groups assault the citizens and destroy all of the businesses and buildings in the area.

Hopefully, Trump, excoriating the man child mayor of Minneapolis and the limp dick Governor of Minnesota was to shame them into taking a strong stand against the protesters, and his admonishment along with the local leftie wing media and thousands of Minnesotans calling for the governor and mayor to resign, forced him to put four times as many LE and National Guard as he had done the previous nights when the local news was showing in real time the looting and burning of banks, and big-box retail stores which will never be re-built in that area again.
That increased force using tear gas and rubber bullets along with armed citizens protecting their business slowed the violence dramatically.
Wednesday and Thursday night gave us a pair of incompetent mayors and governor who sat back thinking all this was just going away if they let the rioters burn a police precinct building to the ground and completely empty a Target store of everything including store fixtures all on national television.
The following day the "Governor" gave a speech where he publically threw the mayors of Minneapolis and St. Paul so far under the bus every wheel left a mark on their back.
Yesterday his head must have been pulled from his ass as he brought both of them on stage and praised them for their great work. I thought he was going to forget the idiot mayor of St. Paul who only allowed 170 businesses to be totally destroyed in evening one of the riots.
Somewhere among the threads here I was asked what was voting out the democrat establishment and putting in republicans going to do.

Think about this: Democrat leaders were about to arrest businesses owners if they opened up during this pandemic. However, they refuse to arrest anyone that loots these businesses.

In fact, they just sit back and watch it all, refusing to help. These Democrat leaders are either, scared, incredibly stupid and don't know what to do or they are enjoying the destruction of the United States.

Correct. Trump pointed out what an inept job the governor and two mayor's had done at protecting its citizens. More national attention for the impotent Democrat politicians in that state.

 

People pay the taxes. Without the people the businesses have no purpose and really aren't there to begin with..

 

And it had nothing to do with the miscreant police being arrested, the police and the politicians all working together, the curfews, the rioters getting tired or having enough loot. None of these had any effect, it was all due to Trump's tweet.

It's hard to know whether to laugh or cry sometimes.

That drop in consumer spending and increase in savings, is exactly what was missing all this time. Had Americans done more of that before COVID, they wouldn't be in the jam they're in now - obviously. But better late than never. People might learn a new way of living, which will be a huge advantage going forward.
