What percentage of the wealthy would it take?

The above, that a large percentage of wealth is the result of criminal acts or do-nothing inheritance by wastrel heirs, is perhaps the third biggest financial lie that collectivists/statists/leftists tell their ignorant voting blocs. Thousands of press and media hours are dedicated to entrenching this lie. We have endless news, movies, TV, media messaging about Bernie Madoff, ENRON, corrupt and depraved wealthy like Harvey Weinstein. As a matter of irrefutable fact and not opinion, those are extreme outliers.

How much media is dedicated to the other 99.9% of wealth creation? The legal immigrant who sacrificed and built a chain of nail salons over decades? The doctor or other professional or tradesman who got up at 5AM for 30 years and worked til 9PM every day? The entrepreneur who worked 16 hour days and ended up creating an innovation that enriches all our lives? Almost none.

How about those who tend to be leftists and get wealthy? Entertainers in media, writers of best sellers, athletes, pop stars, etc.? Somehow these folks, who are a HUGE chunk of the wealthiest in the U.S., fly under the radar. They are the "good guys" while someone who made their wealth as a hedge fund manager or corporate executive? Well they are presumed to be evil, oppressive, dishonest. What a naïve and ignorant view of the world that is. Only a fool buys into it.

There is exactly 0 data or "hard experience" that concentration of wealth (if it even exists given the doctored statistics of collectivist/statist hacks) leads to collapse. None. What we do know is that excessive government and government meddling in markets leads to bad economic results, crashes, collapses, whatever you want to call it. The lastest deep recession in the U.S., also as a matter of fact and not opinion, was the result of bad GOVERNMENT policy more than any private sector factors. Infinite press has been dedicated to hiding and deflecting this to no avail. The U.S. voter at large knows full well whether the "problem" is the guy who got wealthy giving everyone Email or the software behind this forum... or expensive, incompetent, corrupt government that produces nothing but eventual turmoil.

Where there is the most government there is the most instability as a matter of fact and not opinion. The U.S. is becoming more unstable due to the prevalence and massive economic drain of a giant, corrupt, incompetent gov-edu-union-contractor-grantee-trial lawyer-MSM Complex and the redistributive vote-buying scheme that supports it.

Something commonly Ignored by progressives. They think giving stupid/irresponsible people money will suddenly change their lives. It only does on the short term. Usually it ruins it even further. Just ask every other lotto winner or rapper, athlete who grew up without any financial stability.

When poverty is defined by how fat you are or which iPhone you have, that’s not poor. That’s redefining what poor is. Poor people in the US make me laugh sometimes. Go to central Africa then come back and tell me how tough your life is.

There is a world of difference between equality and uniformity.
The differences between equals are not injustices to the righted by force of law.
They are to be protected by force, legal or otherwise.

I define its as - From each according to their will and to each according to their ability.
Of course, those who currently label themselves as 'SJW's define it as from each according to their ability and to each according to their need.

You're equating not being in 'the 1%' with being 'miserable.'

You don't need millions of dollars to avoid misery... well, most people don't.

Only for a really short time then they go back being losers again.

Where do you think the phrase 授人以魚不如授人以漁/授人以鱼不如授人以渔 (“You give a poor man a fish and you feed him for a day. You teach him to fish and you feed him for a lifetime.”) comes from ?

Ah, I see. Jealous of The Donald. You should really focus more on what you have and how you can make you better instead of what others have. Just some free advice for life.

I don't believe in social justice. No such thing when you take from one to give to another. I do believe we have a duty to help those who can't help themselves. But taking from one to give to another just because they don't have enough isn't right.

    What would YOU suggest?

And why isn't it called "Wealth Redistribution"
when more and more of the nation's total wealth
gravitates to the top, in the hands of fewer and fewer?

Because those tax breaks are bringing back good paying jobs back. That's how you lift people up, give them good jobs. You tax the hell out of them and pour on regulations and all you do is chase them away. They get richer paying less, having less taxes and not paying benefits and our people get worse jobs like the service and part time jobs created under Obama;s policies. So who really makes out? They are better off either way. We win only one way.
