Yep; reading real history -- as opposed to what the modern leftist system passes off in public schools as history -- will purely wake up anyone inclined toward independent thought processes. A a political independent it is conceivable that some day I will again vote for a Democrat for the presidency; but he or she would have to cleave very close to the Center of politics in order for that to happen; and by that I mean the traditional center and not the 'new' center that the ever increasingly radical Left created for this nation about a decade ago. But it is very clear that a true Centrist will never again be allowed to rise to that level of political power on the nation's Left; and thus it's just not going to happen.

 

Well the difference is that most of the left (at least on this forum) only grant "pen and phone" powers to Democratic Presidents, but find them unconstitutional and authoritarian under Republican Presidents...but then don't believe that Republican Presidents have any constitutional or legal powers.

Aleksender seems unique in thinking a hated Republican President actually has imaginary dictator powers.

 

If democrats did as you suggest they would no longer be Democrats so if that did change my vote I still wouldn't be switching to democrat.
