No. Breath is simply breath. You have no evidence whatsoever to present for the existence of a soul. It doesn't even appear that you are capable of defining what a "soul" supposedly is.
That's because the "soul" is nothing more than terminology. Use your critical thinking, and stop dodging my questions. People who refuse to answer me turn me off from debate. Breath is metaphorical for "creation". Don't beat around the bush this time............. How did the organism first start (Very beginning) The answer to the above question, is the answer your looking for. Soul is a word. We don't actually know what it is. The solution to what a soul is, would be what creation is. What created us. As in, what is the very first thing in the chain that created a human. That is the most debated question of our time. How were atoms, cells, or even matter conceived? We know what they are, but not how they were created. Do you concede that the word for soul is the start? Do you concede that the word "soul" only currently exists as a word? Answer all these questions, or do not bother wasting my time again. Cross examination requires two participating parties.
If you want to discuss creation myths, then why not simply say so forthrightly? Your definition of the word "soul" is apparently: The magic that explains everything in the observed Universe that I do not personally understand.
Once again you don't answer my questions. You have played the rhetoric card and not the logical one. I clearly stated that the "soul" is not a physical or spiritual entity. Its a word. What's magical about that? And yeah, don't respond. There's no point in one sided debate. Its like debating with a child, who doesn't answer back. Only repeats the same lines 5 posts in. If you wish to actually debate, I suggest you go back and answer the now 20 tough questions you have outright refused to answer. Otherwise, your just a waste of my time. As a final clarification, I will say I have not made one argument in favor or against religion this whole debate (If you can call it that). It was entirely metaphysical refutation.
About angels I have always found interesting the difference of interpretation of their figure by Islam. For Muslims angels are messengers of God and that's all. They are substantially perfect and they cannot "fall". So that, the Devil [Shaitan, Iblis] in Islam is not a fallen angel, but a "Jiin" [a kind of genius]. Regarding their nature, reading the Bible, I got the impression that they had created by God as spiritual entities [but with the capability to make children with women! Remember the Nephilims].
It assume that English is a second language for you. I suspect that you meant to use the word "genie", rather than "genius". Muslims believe that Angels were created from light while Jinns were created from smoke. Christians also view Angels as God's messengers. At least, that is how they are portrayed in the Bible. Individuals who claim to be Christians believe all sorts of off-the-wall ideas that have no relationship whatsoever to official Christian doctrine.
Okay. But first, you'll have to tell me which particular sect of Christianity you practice. Different sects have different doctrines. Of course, if you simply roll your own dogma, then you would have no interest in any of the official church doctrines, so the question is moot.
Your label of "official Christian doctrine" would IMHO take precedence above any and all of the "different doctrines". So my particular preference is irrelevant in regard to the "official Christian doctrine".
come again? breath is air going in and out of lungs. you're going to have to define this soul thing ... YOURSELF .... if you plan to use it in any sort of dialogue. saying "but it's in the bible" doesn't help - you need to define it in terms which anyone - atheist or theist - will understand.
I prefer to use the word 'start' for start - less room for misinterpretation, and considerably less precious. Thanks though, for clarifying that soul is merely a word, and that there is no such thing (or if there is, no one has the foggiest idea what, where, how, and why it is). Interesting though, that you say we have no knowledge, but yet you've concluded it means 'start'. How did you arrive at this? I'll assume you don't actually believe this to be true, of course.
When does this soul start? Does it end? Are new one's created? If so, How? What created the thing that created the soul?
... and it is genetic information that has been stored in the mind which does come back, and tell us how to act as humans, too.
Well, I am a follower of Christ, so if that can be construed as having my "own" religion, then yes, the rules of the other doctrines would not apply to me. That is why I asked about the 'official Christian doctrine'. I would love to see a copy of it.
You ignore that the Hebrew word TRANSLATED into "soul" by the English KJV Bible people meant "mind." And your mind DOES get resurrected when ever a baby is born.
New Age...? Your mind has an Unconscious part to it which contains all the information about being a human, including the metabolic instructions it sends to the body to run it. But it also KNOWS things which your have learned in past life experience that we call Instincts. Recent experiment work using MRI equipment has made it clear that the Unconscious mind works daily in our lives, but we just do not notice it. This not new age stuff, but 20th century psychology applied to this idea. Over the past two decades of neurological research, it has become increasingly clear that the way we experience the world--our perception, behavior, memory, and social judgment--is largely driven by the mind's subliminal processes and not by the conscious ones, as we have long believed. As in the bestselling The Drunkard’s Walk: How Randomness Rules Our Lives, Leonard Mlodinow employs his signature concise, accessible explanations of the most obscure scientific subjects to unravel the complexities of the subliminal mind. In the process he shows the many ways it influences how we misperceive our relationships with family, friends, and business associates; how we misunderstand the reasons for our investment decisions; and how we misremember important events--along the way, changing our view of ourselves and the world around us.
Gen 1:11 And the forces of Nature let the earth bring forth the first sprouts of life in a Spontaneous Generation, which then evolved into the herb yielding seed, and the fruit tree yielding fruit after his kind, whose seed is in itself, upon the earth: and it was so. And the earth brought forth "the first sprouts of life" and herb yielding seed evolving after its kind, and the tree yielding fruit evolved, whose seed was in itself, after its kind: and forces behind Evolution saw that the Plant Kingdom was making good adaptation to the environment.
OMG... you must be citing from some New Age translation where all that was written has been made to appear as politically correct. Take it on down the line.
