Well the state of Georgia and other politicians want a person to have to produce an ID card to be able to vote. What are some of the instruments we carry that ID us? Social Security card, credit card, debit card, drivers' license, federal ID card, state ID card, EBT card, library card, and voter registration card, to name several. But the race baiters are claiming it's racist to demand ID to vote. That is their way of saying it discriminates against blacks. When I vote at my polling place I have to show a drivers' license and a voter registration card. I don't feel I'm being asked because I'm white. But the blacks fall for the scam and go out and demonstrate. The blacks should reject the racist claim as an insult. The race baiters and demonstrators are saying some people are too dumb to obtain some kind of ID? If anyone is that dumb I don't want them voting.

Apparently, there is a large population of very ignorant Democrats that have no way to get an ID. Of course they don't have a job, don't own a house, don't have a bank account, can't get government checks, can't cash a check, can't board a plane, can't buy alcohol, can't go to a hospital, can't rent an apartment, can't buy a car, that just roam around like nomads. I have never seen one but apparently a very large portion of the Democrat population have this problem.
Yet any illegal immigrant with nothing but whats on their back, can walk here from Guatemala and receive a drivers license. So either Democrats are really that stupid or they are lying, and honestly, its debatable which one it really is.

What problem is it designed to solve since voter fraud is already a felony and is virtually non-existent? Seems to me the problem GA legislators are trying to solve is Biden, Ossoff, and Warnock winning.

My issue with the GA law is that it's a solution looking for a problem.

There are other ways we identify ourselves, including signatures, PINs, test questions and others. I see no reason a voter can't use any one or more of these to identify himself.

If its non existent, why do they have a website with the thousands of convictions listed per state with the names of the convicted and voter crimes committed?
    https://www.heritage.org/voterfraud

Seems to me that your statement is either uneducated or just political propaganda.

Virtually non-existent. The link you provided shows 1,317 cases among 50 states over many years. That satisfies the definition of virtually non-existent.

Many of the cards you mention are not considered ID and will not be accepted (social security, credit card, debit card, EBT card); a voter ID card is accepted if it has a picture ID to go with it. Accepted IDs are picture driver's license, Federal Government military id, Federal or state law enforcement ID some states issue state picture IDs for voting purposes. Picture IDs from unions, employers, and private organizations and schools are not accepted.
In short only picture ids from Federal and state governments are accepted.
I think the bigger question should be looking at how people id themselves. Perhaps putting a picture on a voter ID when they register would be a step in the right direction.

How many of those types of ID would be acceptable as voter ID though, both in whatever legislation is written but also by the people at the actual polls who have to check it? What are the full steps required to get one of the accepted form of ID? What existing identification documents does a person require? Do they have to physically travel somewhere? Do they require access to the internet? Do they require a permeant address? Do they have to pay? Those are some of the things that need considering and there may well be perfectly good answers to them all but you won't know unless you ask.

That is not the claim. The claim (legitimate or not) is that the systems and structures often put in place to implement voter ID requirements are explicitly designed to impact certain communities more(often disproportionality black and/or poor), with the intention that they will be discouraged or prevented from voting. If any such laws are to introduced, it is necessary to be aware of that risk and ensure that it is not the case, intentionally or not.

That website is A Sampling of Recent Election Fraud Cases as claimed in its creation. Of course the hundreds of thousands of ballots found in dumpsters, Democrats telling poll watchers they can't watch making them standing 100 feet from any desk counting votes, or refusing to institute voter ID because somehow their are hoards of Democrats that don't have an ID comes to mind. Apparently these hoards of Democrats don't own a car, bank account, apartment, can't cash a check, can't apply for any government program, are just roaming around the country like nomads when an Illegal from Guatemala can walk here across Mexico with only whats on their back in get a drivers license.

Virtually non existent, in what reality.

If democrats can never again cheat and change an outcome of an election, I'm just fine having to show an ID. I have asked that we do background checks as well, since I have to get one to buy a gun these days. Why not make them a requirement for everyone who votes? Good for the goose, as they say.

I guess we should apply that line of thinking to gun deaths, Right?
Over 400 million guns in the US with 13,958 people that died from firearm homicide last year. Virtually non existent. Thats better odds than the common flu.
    Let go with that.

You are subjected to ID requirements for thousands of things in the US but asking for ID to vote is government overreach?
    How is that exactly.

There are other ways to identify yourself without an ID card. More secure ways.

Manufacturing a fake ID isn't easy, but it's easier than matching a name with a SS number, or forging a signature or any number of ways we already use to verify our identity.

When I forget my password to my bank account online, I don't have to show ID to access it again. Why can't voting be handled in the same manner?

When you forget your bank account password you have to prove who you are by answering some personal questions to be able to reset the password. That information is then stored for future logins (if you choose that option).

With voting, there is no electronic verification process (not yet anyway) so a human would have to verify who you are.

Every time Kobach or one of his ilk go to the courts to mandate an ID for voting the judge asks two questions.

    1. Prove voter fraud exists on an appreciable level.

    2. Prove voter ID would have stopped it.

They can never answer those questions to the satisfaction of the courts.

So yes, I think the fed mandating a voter ID law for crimes they can't prove exist or would be stopped would be over reach.

I mean really, what is next?

Government: We have a problem with aliens from outer space assimilating themselves into society and we need to mandate a chip injection at birth to prove we are earthlings.

Lemmings: No kidding? Holy mackeral. Can we have proof?

Government: No, but you need an ID to drive a car so this is not an issue.

    Lemmings: Oh. OK.

Instead of arguing about the pros and cons of requiring a voter ID, I think we should be focusing on how to best help the people that need help with this process. For example, can we possibly get some grant money to help workers go in the field to help people gather their documents and get IDs? Can we help people who are not able to afford going through the court process? Can we work on cleaning up the voter registry list and cross reference with the latest Census Bureau information?

I'm not opposed to the Voter ID requirement. I just believe it disenfranchises some voters because of the document and financial barriers listed above.

So how many cases were never caught? Also, those they claim it suppresses actually support voter ID.

You make it so easy. High voter turnout is considered to be around 60%. That about the best we have seen on a good election average.
So how do you have voter turnouts over 100%?
These are the voter stats in just the city of Milwaukee post 2020 election.
