Presidents lie, Trump lies, Obama lied, everyone lies. In which situation is a lie acceptable, how naughty on a scale of one go ten can the lie be. I don't support or not support Trump in lying. Like you, me, Obama and the rest of the planet, Trump lies. I will go over old ground. We all lie for different reasons/intentions, to different frequencies when we need or have too. Some lie when they don't have to. There are right times and reasons to lie and wrong times and reasons to lie. The lying style of Trump is manipulator. Looking up the different lying styles gives insight to lying in general. Btw, when Trump uses a fish story to form an “illegal voting” committee to prove his insane hypothesis, it’s now not laughable. It collapsed under its own weight when states were asked to violate voting confidentiality.
I think trump lies pathologically as well. I think he actually believes he is a stable genius with one of the world's greatest memories. OTOH, despite the churlish nature of this thread, one cannot excuse trump's mendacity merely by the fact that every human being on the planet lies. The number and scope of his lies is unprecedented in Presidential history. Ahead by miles, a slam dunk. Couple this outrageous mendacity with a demonstrable lack of ethics and low morals and you get the train wreck that is Deranged Donald.
He lies to manipulate, it's not pathological. Manipulation lying may have worked business wise behind closed doors, but in front of the camera, it makes him look stupid. But that's Trump and he ain't gonna change due to a handful of Political Forum posters. To support someone does not mean you support every facet of that person. And to support what? OTOH, I also believe he is pathological in his lying, in that he actually believes many of his lies, particularly when it comes to his personal abilities or lack thereof. I understand that many trumpettes are prepared to prioritize certain policy objectives over all else and are willing to defend the lying, cheatin' corruption of the man they believe is the vehicle to get achieve those limited policy objectives regardless of the price. And impeachment sure as hell ain't a crazy idea. He is an accused criminal already, or are you forgetting he is co conspirator in crimes that another individual is going to jail for. He is guilty as sin of obstruction of justice. this ain't over by a long shot.
Trump has trouble with the truth but not in a pathological way. He manipulates and the distinction is he's deliberate in his deceit/fabrication. He knows it's wrong. Pathological liars go from one lie to the next, then the next and do on, usually without control. They also spread lies when there's nothing to be gained whereas Trump needs to gain. Trump is authoritarian so he manipulates, stretches, spins, exaggerates to get what he wants and to get attention. Sorry, but many say pathological but they don't know what it fully means. And IMO, impeachment is a waste of time, just look at the two cases in history.
